  I just walked past this car near my girlfriends house. It has a 'for sale' sign in the window. It has tax until March. It has crusty arches. I don't know anything else. I didn't want to bother the owner until I'd done a bit of research. I really know nothing about these things other than it looks cool, I can afford it and it's just around the corner! So how much would you pay? |

two of these recently sold on ebay. first one was near mint went for 1200. and another chap on here 00mike00 just delved into ownership of one for a bit less.
where abouts is it.. id love one. no price on it?
it shares alot in common with mk1 rx7's running gear/steering box etc (unsure about suspension)
apparently not fast enough to pull skin off a rice pudding but who cares its uber cool, not a drifter... more of a cosy wafter. buy it !

but be ready to repair the sills from that photo they look dodgy to me.

For £200? Even without T&T, I'd bite his arm off, if you're confident in doing the arches (or know someone who can).
I had the next version (the Mk2, if you like) and loved it, apart from a few issues with the fuel pump.

Just to get basic for you they were usually marketed as the Mazda Montrose in the UK, Capella in Japan and the last of the traditional Rwd, live axle series before they went Fwd, 1.6 & 2 litre 4cyl OHC, should share a lot with larger 929 as well that retained Rwd for much longer.
Comfortable & refined for the time, obviously very classy as a hardtop, & that one is also the facelifted version with revised bumpers/grille/lights.

Crickey, that's silly cheap. I'm assuming it has no mot on it? Would be worth having a good poke around underneath to see if the price reflects condition in the unseen areas, or if the owner just wants a quick sale. This is a facelift Montrose - Brettmrc on here has the earlier version with chrome bumpers and running an Rx rotary.
Would be well worth sticking the contact details up on here if you don't want it - I'd imagine it would have a fair bit of interest. Lets hope it gets to stay on the road.
