that local 2002 went for about £600 complete IIRC needed an apointment with welder though apparently, check out egheys recent sales.  |

I bought the one in my sig just before the crimbo before last for £250 with an engine stand.
It will get a bmw M3 s14 to drop in it some day, but ive seen Nissan SR20DET's and e36 M3 engines before now

Putting a 2.9 V6 in it would be so wrong, IMO. Sure it would go fast in a straight line, but you could kill the 'ultimate driving machine' ethos. What a car like this needs is a lovely light screamer of an engine. Now I don't know if the same is true of the '02, but attempting to put the delicious E30 M3 4-pot unit in a RHD E30 or E21 is a major ball-ache due to the conflict between the steering and the exhaust. It can be overcome, but it won't come cheap. My 'gut feeling' would be to use an M42 / M44 4-cyl 16v twink from an E30/E36, As you already know, Russ, you can rev the tits off them Should be an easier job to do too, plus with the '02 being lighter than later models, you'll be able to cane me at the lights ;D OK, maybe not so fast in a straight line as a V6 24v affair, but a much more 'rounded package'.  |

Coooooorrect , I'm thinking of using an e21 rack instead of the 02 steering box, or maybe an uber complicated manifold, Fitting the engine in the bay is made easier by the fact that the s14 engine in the E30 M3 is based on the M10 block as is standard in the 2002, It obviously has 200+bhp of reliable standard power and Ive seen an s14 engine putting out 415bhp with very little internal modifications other than pistons rods and crank. |

my first thoughts were a revvy screamer. I can't help cycling past a standard ish but low 325/320  near work without thinking, those are not very big, looks smart, and I should get one!!! That local one:    (have to be orange for me! ) turns out it was owned by a laydee too, no idea where it is now... |
