Never realised the saloons had different front wings to the hatch, missing the blister arches. Huh, learned something new today. Me neither!  potential to put hatch arches on saloons then!  I'd easily have a saloon, totally coolest, ideally in 2 dr, however i know i'd curse everytime i tried to move tat in it, it'd still be a billion times more practical than a two seater sports car though!!! ;D Theres a lot of potential but i guess RRers would be chasing RWD GeMs. Nova would make a kool daily though.  |

I think the blister arches would look a bit wrong on a booted Nova, cos you'd only be able to directly swap the fronts so it'd look unbalanced... I'm sure I've got a pic of one somewhere, I'll try to find it ;D

Novas are so cool, there's some really nice ones in this thread. I'd forgotten how good they can look actually! I'm starting to want one again... This is mine from back in the day. Was my mums originally, then became my first car - 1.2 Merit 5 door! I was rolling this in the mid-late 90's when Novas were the height of 'fashion'. I think I did well to keep the mods fairly subtle really! I was already in to the 'less is more' approach of the VW scene, which I think helped. Really, I wanted it to look like a Golf!   |

The Nova is well overdue a comeback.
I would have my first car, Nova 1.3 SR (E47 DSO) back in a second, and do that 2.0 16v transplant I had been threatening to do...
Or a 2 door saloon sleeper...Hmmmm. ;D

Hmmm, i have a ascona GT (C20SEH 130 horsies engine) and have been offered a pretty nice white Corsa A... Would that be a straight engine swap or? The Corsa is a 1.4

I've been having the same ideas as you tho, mine involve the 19" bmw x5 rims I have laying around at work ;D strictly, yes it would but saying i want to turn a nova into a box sounds like i want to cart one off to the crusher .... which striclty is far more realistic of what i'd actually do with one ;D |

Yeah It left luton in 1989 with a cav sri 130 lump with 75 shot of gas   Awful cars Driven by a bunch of wasters in my opinion, I did it because it was cheap. Lets face it they are no Classic, Vauxhalls are Dire, Full stop. |

Sadly Novas will be forever tarnished with a barryboy reputation imo  That just adds to the appeal of having a mentally fast one IMO. |
