Weirdly, after some time of inactivity, things are coming alive at Chez Grizz. Certainly, playing a part in it all is Sally. She took all the pics below, sneakily while I was busy, to me it shows a certain interest She continues to send me pics of old cars and animals and chases me to the garage when she can. Sunday afternoon, she came over and made me clear up outside the garage, moving stuff, sweeping and to be honest, being one of the nicest pains in the butt, I have had there for a long time. This does not include Paul Y who is always welcome. With all the plastic pallets already removed by Prozac, the trailer needed it’s wheels pumped up and moved with stuff on top of it. The steel work bench also needed to be moved temporarily, as did the trolley I used to move theC10chassis in and out when I was doing all the work on it. Much more to be cleared, but headed in the right direction Job done, trust me. Now I can weld and cut and grind out in front of the garage again, thanks to some good motivation There are a few tasks to do before I get going on the Chevy Resto Reboot, including removing the existing deck, rebuilding a new one and some other random tasks. But it will be gotten back to.

Onward and upward Rian, keep looking ahead and never look back. ☺ Thank you Baz. I need to call you again. interested in "blokey stuff"...sounds like a keeper! ;-) Indeed. I guess with two sons, agaed 19,26 who are both into cars etc, and an uncle who owned a garage and MOT station, she was bound to grow up that way.

Little trolleys like that are worth their weight in gold. My brother-in-law snaffled my dad’s one donkeys years ago, a bit bigger than yours, and I keep meaning to make myself a replacement sometime. I have a smaller one, but it isn’t anywhere as nice to use as it has tiddly little wheels with solid tyres... I do have a plan though... 😂

Yesterday was the Kent American car Breakfast Meeting so Sally joined me and we went to Sevenoaks but had to use the Berlingo as the Blazer was parked down at the bottom of the garden, with all the decking boards and furniture blocking it in. While we were there I was having conversations with disasterbus and mate Martin on Messenger. Disasterbus was a car conversation, nothing unusual there. Martin, conversely was trying to spend some of the money in my wallet. He sent a message about an engine hoist for sale. And it is one of those things I do not own, but have access to, Martin’s is 15 miles away, in the back of a garage behind his house, with bikes, a truck and various other bits blocking it, and craigrk has his stored 80 miles from here, so neither ideal. I will need one to lift the engine and trans back into the frame of the C10 as well as lifting the cab on and off when the time comes to remove it, paint, cut, weld and paint it. At £70.00 and an hour long back road “road trip” as Sally said, coming back via the Isle of Sheppey and a couple of shops, finally getting an overpriced take away shop coffee that tasted great 😉 it was a fair deal imho. Also saw these guys on the way back. And the hoist, used for one job by its owners whe was building a boat, and needed to manage the motor into the hull at some point. Looks like new. I also managed to build a large BBQ table to go on the new deck forum.retro-rides.org/thread/208777/dicking-failed-decking-rebuilding-tableSo a great weekend all in all. Just waiting for summer now.

happy Rian makes for happy retrorides! Thanks mate. Yes, happier than before, still stuff in the background Just back from the USA road trip. I was asked elsewhere, what treasures I brought back this year. Some of you know the randomness of my collections. Some will recall that I have an unfinished 1966 Chevy C10 truck to restore in my garage. Got a few bits for the truck too. Not right, but right enough, should I choose to fit it. Truck parts. Thanks to Dennis. He won’t be needing most of these with his NASCAR C10 build. Which he has started messing with again. My truck never had a rear view mirror. Made some cool stuff at Andy’s place in Oklahoma again. One cross for Sally too. License plates, old story. New Missouri plate from Adams Hellcat that he sold as he was not using it. So there you go. Treasures.

For those not up to date. Go check the last few pages of Prozacs thread....... Caravan is a welding and grinding shed for the restart of this restoration. I am amazed at just how slowly things are now happening compared to my usual project pace with this whole cardiac thing. But it still beats sitting in front of the telly 24/7 So today, Sally again put on her “garage clothes”, stolen from Ryan, her younger son and came to help me, shifting, carrying, advising, mocking, teasing and generally being helpful, she also weeded the whole garden and cut the grass for me....... yup, I know it’s going to cost me somewhere in the future. Looking as unflattering as can be, hair back, old tracksuit, boots, and lugging an engine balancer bar down to the shed..... My kinda girl. So....... Yup, truck still waiting in here behind all this and the rest. So started to clear out garage, so that I can get to the C10 and it’s parts that are stacked up high in the rear. Put this in the market as I decided not to build the little kart as planned, sometimes thanklessness deserves a zero...... Removed the small, tall table, and though it does not look it, fitted and fixed this one, made of a kitchen worktop offcut. Slowly, getting there. Done, actually got loads of little jobs done. Tomorrow we will start of the old welding table, not yet started there. I seem to be doing two hours and call g it a day. Done for today. In the mean time, Dennis is now again going full steam ahead with his 66 C10 NASCAR build. Hendricks Motor is ready to fit. He got some complete AP Racing brakes all round yesterday, and fitted them today. NASCAR Spec front end too. This thing is going to ROCK !!! Later.

I'd love the wee cart to make an alternative Lil Red (blue) wagon with. I'll safely guess postage on it to Eire to be ruinous though. Great to see you looking after yourself and fantastic to see space appearing to work on the pickup. I look forward to any of your progress.

You are a vehicular inspiration Rian! Is Sally a brandy & coke girl yet after being with you?!! I think you are being overly generous here mate, but if I make you grin, laugh or do something weird.... job done. Sally is a laydeee, hardly drinks alcohol, but before the cardiac thing, she poured a very good one. Used to work in a pub at some point. good progress. I do like that little cart and noticed it earlier in the thread. The 66 is looking good. its nice to have some inspiration from a NASCAR truck too!... JP Little cart has gone off to a super nice guy, along with another Hazet toolbox and some other stuff I managed to give him, wanted to pay for stuff, but did not realise I was having a purge here. He is VW guy. That truck of Dennis’ is going to be great. I'd love the wee cart to make an alternative Lil Red (blue) wagon with. I'll safely guess postage on it to Eire to be ruinous though. Great to see you looking after yourself and fantastic to see space appearing to work on the pickup. I look forward to any of your progress. Thank you I am going to enjoy discovering some stuff I forgot about Maybe doing all of this so slowly, is forcing me to be more sensible about clearing stuff away. I have that whole Honda CG 125 motor, loom etc in a box, the Dino Kart frame that it was meant to go into, all need to move on, make space and allow me to focus. @johnnybravo posted these up. Yes, I would. Mr Pernikity knows somebody who would weld in these...🤣🤣

Got a few bits done today. Almost nothing to show, but I know it’s done. Also created a fire hazard. Picked this up....... Want to see if it will work as an extractor for the shed-van. Also pulled this Dino Cars frame out of storage, it was planned to be powered by a CG125 Honda motor which along with it, will be for sale. Rear view. I approved of the chassis and wagon in mid 2014. Bought this in March 2015 to power the Dino Cars frame. Stippped it...... Treasures all boxed up and ready for storage. Bike engine and Dino Cars Frame now for sale. And pulled the cage out, used it when my truck had no front or rear l So technically an easy day.

Well, Easter weekend came and went. I hope that everyone of you had a good weekend with family and friends, doing stuff you wanted to or needed to do. Thoroughly enjoyed it all, car shows, two BBQ's on Saturday and tonight. Today it was boot fair with some bargains to be picked up followed this afternoon by a visit from Scot "Jabbo" to drop off a huge piece of foam rubber and to chat about all things automotive and then some. After he left I started stripping the crashed Honda, later Martin popped over from the bike gathering he and Amanda had been to. Seems whenever he pops over, chaos ensues. Did not take us long to get this far....... Front end removed and most of the engine bolts etc. One of the problems with these modern bikes, even small ones is that they have all sorts of cleverness in their wiring looms etc. so one needs to dismantle sensibly if you want the thing to work again in future. Once all the bits were unstuck, undone, unscrewed and ready, I lifted the frame off, leaving the engine on its own. As Martin said, it's a pity our V8's and straight sixes are not that easy to handle. It was off to the ready made trolley box I made on Saturday with the engine, followed by a lot of other bits, sprockets, wiring looms, chain, battery etc, all the bits possibly needed later when the toy gets built. The frame and other bits still needed to be stripped to a level where it can be sold on Evilbay. Treasures all boxed up and ready for storage. Frame is going to be for sale as well, maybe someone can use it in a restoration project. Though I think the disc brake models are not liable to be as collect able as the older kick start models. Spares for EBay listing, the two Michelin Pilot tyres were a week and less than 100 miles old. One of the nice things we discovered about the tail end of the little bike is that it will also be donating its number plate bracket and light to the truck...... You see, every Chevy needs a little Honda in its life. Thanks must as always go to Martin for coming over and creating havoc in my life, but also keeping me company and taking the lead on the stripping of the bike, he has clearly done this a few times before, and it may point at a very misspent youth......... Only he will know. Tomorrow it is back to the grind stone, but at least it is a 4 day week, which is pretty cool too. More about the CG 125 motor.

Sorry to hear about the health scare mate. Sometimes these things have a positive effect in the long run though. Purging the “unlikely to get done” stuff can be surprisingly liberating.
Do you want to flog that blue trolley? 🤣
