I'm thinking about changing from a twin choke weber on my 2.0 pinto to either twin carbs or bike carbs I'm just putting out the feelers to see what people have avalible. I've a manifold for 40's already ;-)

Unless I've got mixed up, bike carbs are usually used instead of something like twin 40s as a cheaper option. So if you've got the manifold ready for 40s and wanna pay for them go for it.

You`ll get same results power wise but with bike carbs it`ll drive better at low speeds, wont use as much fuel and wont need them retuning again and again like twin carbs. Just make sure its set up on a rolling road by someone who understands bike carbs rather than just drilling the main jet out. Ive got a set of zzr1100 carbs that are the full power import ones where the slide moves right up unlike the uk restricted ones. 40mm so ideal for a 2.0. £45 posted.

Show me a car that has ran bike carbs successfully and efficiently for at least two years,
Bike carbs are for bikes get a set of twin carbs properly set up keep the clean and you'll get more smiles per mile than bike carbs..

I'm leaning towards twin carbs if I'm honest but the price of them is what puts me off, unless somebody has a set they would let go for a reasonable price

i would not touch twin 40's in a month of sundays over bike carbs. people that slate them, don't understand them or know how to set them up. i had mine at the rollers recently and the operator couldn't get over how smooth and stable the torque curve and the afr was

Well I fitted them yesterday and they seem to be working fine, one thing I hadn't thought about and knowbody has mentioned is that the throttle is really short, I think it's something I will have to learn to live with

Try fitting a twist throttle to your steering wheel..
Seriously though you just need to lengthen the throw on your peddle or on the carbs.
This will give you more leverage and more control,
Good look and you do realize PICTURES are mandatory on RR.

no prob, remember to block the air corrector for the main jet if your using the cbr900's, otherwise it will keep leaning out at what and you'll keep enlarging the main jet to compensate which is not the right thing to do.
