Its almost asif Max power people have been spending time on here! Maybe they have! Picked the second ever Max Power I have paid for before. Things have really changed more than I thought, its like they are trying to educate the young guys (and gals) with brains like sponges ready to get into something, how to do it, properly! How bizarre. This issue comes with a booklet on different styles and an intro to the rules of modding that sounds like something hoTWire wrote with us RRers! styles covered: J VIP Euro Retro! ETC And Lowriders and phatphord is in it! Havnt even got to the mag yet with missy elliot and DONKS etc! www.maxpower.co.uk/

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

I think it has actually started to head more towards it's roots. It started out as make cars go faster mag, with tits. Then the tits got into editorial positions, and it went down hill. Didn't old plummy mouthed dirty voice herself VBH edit MP for a while?
I last looked at an issue about a year ago, and while they were still a bit "tarts handbag", there where cars with big turbos and stuff fitted, and people who had gone further than soldering in a 10p ebay resistor and set of spinner hubcaps.
Looks like I might need to find a copy now that RC has gone and the new boys aren't out there yet.

I picked up PC the other day too 'March' issue. TBH i'm liking the fresh feedback inspired approach of both mags, only thing that worris me is PC makes me feel like an old man, even if it is my type of cars featured more; retro and cool classics etc, And Max is making me feel young, like too young, but in both cases i see interesting cars i like and don't see in any other mags, and its well written in an informative way and not too patronising or random facts. Happy!

id still rather be seen paying for a "top shelf slot mag" tbh... but we must remember that the youth of today ...(damn i feel old saying that) the people buying this type of magazine, will be going on to building hotrods/modded classics/retro stuff etc... some will "get over it" and "out grow cars".... but some will be our future.... si

I've not seen the new Max Power, but it sounds really interesting. One thing I will say though, is that I doubt that the mag has taken the initiative to educate readers about Euro / VIP etc. I reckon it's the other way around: Mags are all about sales, and I reckon the new direction has been brought about by the fact that todays car modifiers are a lot more style-savvy. If Max were still able to sell gazillions of copies with tits n' tupperware on the cover, they'd still be doing it. They've had to change because the scene has changed, and that's a really really good thing.

I almost picked it up last month when i saw the change, but i bottled out. Stopped buying it couple of years back when all it did was show Tits and tits in Saxo's with their hanging out. Will be good if it goes back to what it used to do. Might have to take a look now.
