i think a lot of scenes are probably fairly full of politics when you delve too deeply. Thats one reason why the retro scene is so good, because its the best of all the classic/rod/retro/modified scenes all brought together - and so you tend not to have the politics from those scenes
a few vw's i would love to see ... a VIP trekker, suicide rear doors, leather interior, slammed over some deep dish rims. thinking watercooled my first choice would be a scirocco, (and i think someones already said this) but it has some great lines to go bozo all the way! I could find a use for that starion turbo lump then too with twin exhausts coming out the rear and up to roof level, plus side exit exhausts to boot! bubblegum pink and white would be my choice of color. And having watched initial D too much recently i think i'd need to have "Driver - Tofuman" written just under the drivers window ;D

Drag style 13B rotary powered FWD Mk1 Polo. Nice crisp bridgeported naturally aspirated 13B, 50mm IDA carb/throttle bodies, adapted to appropriate FWD gearbox. Huge front slicks running on wide 13/14" front wheels, rear running skinnies on the rear, ultra stiff rear suspension setup for those all important launches! Nicely lowered stance, bare alloy wing mounted on bootlid. Dark, dark tints, half cage, stripped interior etc. This but Mk2 estate version in RWD flavour!

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

what about a mk3 polo given the rodded beetle look, with huge rear tyres and exposed from wheels. would have to be channeled etc. this thread is brilliant, we've turned the vw scene on it head Can you channel a monoque car?

2 Door it. Edit: oh yeah and 5 cylinder Quattro motor too. That was the plan,.. I might have a bit more of a fiddle tomorrow .. I was going to 2 door it, stretch the front doors and extend the back so it is single piece... I also want to do a panel van version,.. but photoshopping that is a pain!

I've had a dig aboout and found these, from my VW days. I seem to remember it had 8x13 minilights later in the year too. how's about these? Tubbed caddy 80's/90's/00's /chav crossover? non matching wheels? Tidy example.

That caddy - did it start off with a TT engine in the back? Remember seeing something like that at Pod...

That belongs to the guy I bought the Syncro off up in Kendal ;D Its mid rebuild at the moment, super rare roof apparently He`s desperately trying to get it finished to take to Worthesee but it`ll look a bit different to that......... New Wheels for it are Blinging and its running a VR6 Turbo Motor now as well Wont give away what he has planned for it as its not really fair but it will be a bit different

I thought of this on the way home,... here is the thought process : People say that the iPod is a "clean" design because it has all the design paradigms of a bathroom (white + chrome + shiny surfaces). Following the same thought process, what is "fresh"? To me fresh is oranges,.. and then following that, fruit... so here is a "fresh" 4dr Golf Mk1 Its not totally revolutionary,... but I wanted to follow the process through.... Now on the way home I saw a mallard duck, and I liked the colour of his head...... *Note wheels aren't correct again,.. but,.. well I'm at home and I've got thigns to do

In the mid '90s i came up with the idea of a Speedster based on a Skoda S110R, it was a runner up in a Street Machine Motorvation competition. It featured a rear section similar to the Renault 19 with the twin humps behind the seats. It was slammed on a set of Porsche 'FUCHS' alloys and all the chrome was colour coded. I've got a copy of the magazine sketch somewhere. Couldn't something similar be done with the type 3? I think the Scirocco would be too short.

Another idea....
following on from the LT, what about an LT camper body over a full space frame chassis, running a VW Toureg V10 TDi, rear mounted and hidden under a rear bed, looking completely stock from the outside.
