if anyone out here has a chrome bumper mgb could you please upload or send me some pictures of how the steering column sits in the engine bay. i.e how far it is into the bay and then the route it takes from the front cross member. I'm trying to do a front cross member swap and will also be hangig to the hrome bumper steering rack and column. I'm finding very little details of how the column sits or if the parts are even interchangable thanks Mike

absolute legend thanks matey! that explains the top does the shaft pass through the gap in the engine mountig area like on a rubber bumper car do you know? thanks very much matey much apreciated!!

I think it passes under the mounting, Ive just removed mine for the engine conversion so cannot take any photos.

it looks like it does, starting to turn into a jumble of custom parts if not. cheers anyways matey. hope the conversion goes smooth

It passses over on a chrome bumper car, not through the mount like later ones

If you need a Chrome bumper column I may be able to help you. I have a column from an early rubber bumper car which IIRC use a setup more like the chrome bumper cars.
