I'm with BB on this one, another pauper benz owner. ;D ive looked at the merc mag in smiths before, but it seems to be aimed at "giles brandreth jumper" wearing types who own cars with W numbers i don't know.

Monthly, now that Retro Cars has gone, I only buy CAR and PPC. But I do spend a fair amount each month on old mags on eBay - mainly 70s/80s CAR and CCC, to fill the gaps in my collection

The only car mag I buy every month is PC. However on those mega rare occasions that I can find it, I also get The Automobile. Occasionally get Classic Cars and C&S if there's anything of interest, but that hasn't been for a while, since I need the space for boat mags (I'm a yacht designer).

Shamefully I only have a subscription to 'Car' - like Paul H my motives are work/study related. I have on occasions bought the 'Hot Wheels' magazine.....and occasionally I'll get 'Classic and Sportscar', but I sometimes get the feeling that I have read them all before.....

I occasionally buy practical classics or PPC off a stall on coventry market 75p each (they are severall months out of date but new and unread ;D ) 3 for £2 at my local market - I got Top Gear, Minimag and Max Power this week! Max Power had a six-pager on Lowriders (photography by Matthew Howell!) and some not-bad cars.

I have on occasions bought the 'Hot Wheels' magazine.....and occasionally I'll get 'Classic and Sportscar', but I sometimes get the feeling that I have read them all before..... I sometimes buy C&S or maybe Classic Cars, but I deliberately don't if they have an MGB/Midget/Healey/Triumph TR on the cover or as a main feature. I've got enough old mags with those in - there's only so many mags with "MGB - the Greatest sportscar evAr?", "MGB - The best first-time Classic evAr?", "MGB - The best summer convertible evAr?", "Summer motoring - is the MGB the best purchase evAr?", "MGB - Buyers Guide and every variant tested INSIDE OMG", "MGB vs the Competition" blah blah etc etc that I can stand

On Sub are: Practically Clapped out Classic & Sports Car Every issue I get: Custom Car (should re-subscribe) Rodders Journal (now its only £8 in some London newsagents ) Occasionally get: Rod & Custom Classic Cars Classic Van and Pick up Custom Rodder - no more though DP reminded me about Intersection. I bought every one for a couple of years from Issue 01 but decided to cut back. 'tis an interesting publication though with some bizarre stuff in. I have seen the odd copy of the "first issue" book they did but haven't bought one as yet. The best magazine ever though was Rodders Digest. It was like a breath of fresh air amongst all the other US mags but went belly up after being bought by a bigger pulishing house. They printed several letters and photos I sent in and then one day when it was no more I got a package containing two T shirts and some stickers form the editor. I was so chuffed ;D I know they've tried to revive it a couple of times in the last couple of years but I've had difficulty getting hold of it here. If any of you guys have some old issues of it you want to sell let me know!

I buy without fail: -Zoom (you guys would love this magazine) -Street Machine(Australian Version, not same as yous) -Autosalon(not the my usual cars, but awesome photography and great articles, plus I like to see the modern stuff coming from japan to convert into retro's)
Ocassional purchases: -Fast fours(used to be a regular but swayed too much away from older stuff for a while) -Cruizn (Aussie lowrider, street machine and rod magazine) -Australian Street Rodder
I have a fair few doubles of magazines when I get around I could probably send them over to some of you guys over there soon.

Has retro cars vanished or is it just my neck of the woods?Anyone know? 'fraid its died of natural causes does anyone import the aussie street machine to these shores? looks to be a zillion% better than "american lethargy world"* that we now get over here. *I'm sure there's loads of people that like american car world, but I'm afraid I'm not one of them. sorry.
