Is it me or you don't see them anymore? I always tought they made some pretty awesome wheels and for the price it seems a lot more of a good idea rather than many other over priced trendy ones. Their RS for instance is something I thought of buying since forever, or their version of the Turbo. A 13x7 would cost me 190£, or 230£ for the billet versions, which compared to say an SSR is almost half. Sure, once you get up in size the cost goes up too, but for us atached to the old 13s and 14s seems quite a good deal. And from what I remember Image makes top notch stuff. This are rather sweet too Or the billet version of the Turbo with more slots is pretty awesome too... Or this.. What do you say? Am I that far from reality?

you don't see a lot because bigger sizes, even smaller sizes, are so damn expensive!

£1000! probably more. But the quality is awesome, went to the show room once. Well worth a look, if your in tipton pop in but be prepared to regress to a little kid. If you don't regress you'll probably end up a dribbling wheel fetishist LOL ;D

I'm about to advertise my set on here...and yes, they are damn expensive to buy new I think. I know I am going to lose a lot of money for the 1500 miles use they have seen. Nice quality though....

if you buy painted midland/JBW wheels then they are good, but i have seen a lot of sets of the polished ones suffer badly with laquere peel

I have seen loads of old skool Fords (Escorts in particular) with the Midland / JBW RS 4 spoke replicas on - usually with nice low profile tyres too - looks wicked. If I had the money (and didn't have actual RS 4 spokes) I'd get a set

I've got a set of the 7.5 x 13" RS replicas from JBW in silver and they are excellent value for money, especially considering the high price of genuine ones. I also found they were cheaper from Peter Lloyd Rallying than direct from JBW which was weird. I would have preferred black and polished but I do not look after my wheels well enough and knew it wouldn't take long for them to get tarnished. I bought them for my Anglia but here they are being modelled on the Rickman.

That is pretty much what i knew about Image and why i think that if money wasnt an issue i'd buy them on the spot. Plus, i still think that all things considered they aint that pricey. Prettyset on the 13x7.5 RS4 from JBW thou. Also cause they will work great with both a low profile stretched tire and a 155/80 skinny whitewall one. Tryin to think outside the box here...

They've had a lot of bad press too. Care to elaborate? I've never heard a bad word said against them besides their price. The ones I've had any experience with have been great too.

As far as I'm concerned Image wheels are the business.
Did I mention I've just bought some? Ahhh yeah. ;D

It wasn't a quality issue, more their service. Was a few years ago now, my mate bought a set and when they turned up they were the wrong offset. Sent them back to have them built properly and when they came back there was a lot of damage on them where they'd split the faces. Took a few months to get sorted. He put a post up about it on a forum and a few people mentioned they had similar issues.

ATS are German aren't they? Pretty sure you can still buy Classics and Cups, try Rimstyle (i think) they always had big spreads in the VW mags when i used to buy them.
For small-diameter splits try MB Racing. They do stuff for historic single seaters, so most is centre-lock, but i'm sure if you really wanted you could make them fit.

So, I was droolin on the dished RS alloys on ebay and after slappin myself to the reality that I simply cant afford them right now I did a quick lookaround. These came up, which are also made by JBW, and really look like a knock off of the Work Equips. Such a shame they only make them in 15", as they are actually nicer than the originals and cheaper too. So I dare asking.....why there is such hate for "knock offs" all over the interweb? I see nothin wrong with it, and it seems that in the wheel industry everybody copied eachother since the early days of after market. Just think about the Cragar super sport that came out in 63 or so, and how many other brands had obvious copies of them, or the slot mag....comparisons can go on forever. So unless you are prepared to only accept a handful of wheels (the originals), which by consequence will become very rare and expensive, I think the "knock off" alternative is a more than acceptable one. Am I looking at it from the wrong angle? Just looking to have some conversation btw, no real point in the matter www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VW-Golf-MX5-Mazda-7x15-OS2-set-4-alloy-wheels-Vauxhall-Honda-NEW-/140920551336?pt=UK_CarParts_Acc_Wheels_tyres_Trims_Car_Rims_ET&hash=item20cf84f7a8
