Small progress. Some motorstuff Had a day off on friday so (after three attempts at buying the right length..) bolted up the engine in the stand Which give you something like this (after cleaning) (by the way: for bigger pictures click on them) ![](http://farm6.staticflickr.com/5521/10904810064_7ff3e7ac0b_c.jpg) No posts with only one picture! Head.. ![](http://farm3.staticflickr.com/2859/10904742406_300d53c27a_c.jpg) Quite funny this.. ![](http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7315/10904823654_448e74e67e_c.jpg) ![](http://farm3.staticflickr.com/2834/10904699285_a549388a6b_c.jpg) Somehow the stud wrecked the olt. But you would think that when you get the bolt out, you'd wreck it totally..

No pictures to show progress but there is progress to report!
Around Christmas started to weld up some small patches, Thus starting the constructive part. A bit behind the bumper repaired , otherwise the sparewheelwell could not be welded in, and also the corner of the groove of the rear triangle window, And discovered one new place of rust, but not too big,
In addition, the engine is apart . But I am busy with buying another motor.. In the future I'd like to build a MegaSquirt system for the 164. ( If there is money again after the restoration is completed ) Therefore, I am trying to buy , so you immediately have all accessories, an E - block
In addition, there is a huge stockclearance at APP, so a set of Bilsteins soon ends up here. (€145 instead of €270!)
I will try next time to think about taking a camera with me ..

Nice Car.. Have a soft spot for the 164.. Are you planing on using ITB's for your injection? Or do you want to use the setup form the E?
Cheers from Denmark

First i want to start with an setup from the E, next step would then be MS, after that LPG injection, and well, after that maybe funny things, but first i want to get it running again.
I'm having a hard time finding a nice complete B30E, too expensive, too bad, strange sellers..

My brother is converting his 142 B20 to EFI. But local made brand. So it is not so expensive as MS. But still very nice. Have you looked in www.blocket.se? There are some 164 E for parts. Like this: www.blocket.se/vi/51271335.htm some of them are willing to ship over.

Tried Rustyco on some stuff, seems promising Front axle is almost dismantled, will have it sandblasted and in RX5/RX10 and underbodycoating. Also tried cleaning the interior today with my girlfriend. Used Mothers Cleaner and Protector. Seems to be too agressive, seems as if the color comes off together with the dirt... Also had a strange yellow shade to it, hope that will sort itself out once it is totally dried and everything is evaporated. Lastly had a friend mark out where the sunroof will has to come... ![](https://farm3.staticflickr.com/2935/13951818775_4493c430b8_z.jpg) ![](https://farm4.staticflickr.com/3687/13928720922_58173cfabe.jpg)

Are you chopping the roof?!?!? Depends on what you mean.. We're chopping up to make room for a sunroof, not to lower the roof. Did one absorbermount yesterday ![](https://farm6.staticflickr.com/5091/13987694523_190c7eb640.jpg) Surprise, surprise. Lesson 1 on how to create a rusttrap.. ![](https://farm8.staticflickr.com/7128/13964528932_cdc85a04ae.jpg) Rust, be gone! ![](https://farm6.staticflickr.com/5343/13968151124_8530b6e82e.jpg) Some little patches before the big replacement can be welded in ![](https://farm8.staticflickr.com/7230/13967684835_2dfefc0d83.jpg)

It seems that all the volvo 164 rust in the same areas, some more than others but they rust either way... Mine had less rust but is way worse overall...

Trying to upload some pictures to post here, but internet is as slow as it never has been..
In text: Welding, welding, welding. Both shockabsorbermounts have been replaced, both inner frontwings replaced. Wheelarch right replaced. Left will be done tommorow. Made some improvements on the a-pillar. (water will now be going straight down, instead of into the sills...) Most of the paint removed, hopefully i can get the car to the sandblaster end of next week or the week after that.
Have bought a nice (little bit tuned) b30 with about 130K km on it! Including all the adjustments made for driving it on megasquirt. Also all the accessories for the LPGinjection.
Lots of painting of little bits n stuff done. Front axle is at the sandblaster ATM. Doubting about what to do with the rearaxle. Probably mount the one i had and save for a revision.

Will post a photodump when the computer is back from repairs...
For now:
- 3 doors are al welded up and ready for further use. One will need to be replaced or i need to fabricate the lower rear corner but i am a bit hesistant of doing that myself - bought a second hand front. Just a bit rusted where it bolts onto the car. No problem. - found a "as new" bootlid in the storage. Yeay! - the leather that is cleaned and looked as if it went yellow. Luckily wasn't. Just checked storage and it seemed good! - bit more of that curseword wiringloom under the dash renewed - generally lots of parts assembled, to speed it up when we'll be mounting her up again. - decided not to go down the road of sandblasting because of lack of funds. So I'm sanding here down myself.
