What turbos are best suited for 1.0l engine? My £20 t2 from eBay is no good (no curse word Sherlock!) chucks oil everywhere and has a canyon size crack in exhaust housing and chunks from turbine missing, so knackered So, open to your collective wisdom

What about the ones fitted to Metros? They're for a 1.3 though...

It could be worth looking at a single turbo from larger twin-turbo stuff. Maybe one from an Audi S4 bi-turbo? They're a 2.7 twin turbo V6, so each turbo's dealing with 1.35l, and they're a fairly modern, fast-spooling design that'd probably suit the slightly smaller engine quite well. A single one might be quite cheep too, as it wouldn't be of much use to someone for an actual S4.

Metro turbo is a T3, so reasonably big. GTTi one might be a good call (but not that common) although it is designed for a rev happy engine. What about a T25 from a R5 GT? Think that is quite common for use for 998 mini turbo's

I would be looking at small Diesel engines for a turbo , something non vnt from a 1.6 or 1.9 would be an idea .

What about the kp35 on Clio diesel?

But wasn't the Smarts one integrated into the manifold?
There is an hillclimb Mini 998 running a gt17 and 150hp.
My short list was Garrett T15 or KKK K14 or Mitsubishi TD-03 when I looked into turbocharging mine Micra (also aiming on 100hp ish).
Or just get the manifold and turbo from a K10 Superturbo or PK10 Figaro.

There probably are a few recent petrol units that will be suitable but the diesel units are ten a penny and will have a wastegate set at around 0.5 bar so won't do any harm to start with .
