I was just out in the garage admiring my work when i thought - 'i wonder if other peoples work areas are like mine?' Now mine is messy, jolly messy, but i think that it shows productiveness as i don't have enough time to tidy, and i also need to know where everything is! So come on then, i want to see you work benches, workshops, garages etc etc J p.s. hope this is allowed? might be a bit ot really?

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

Mine usually a bit of a mess. I am not a tidy person. My desk at work, you cannot see the wood for the invoices and other bits spewed across it. The garage is the same. Stuff kinda gets thrown in there out of the way during the week and then at thee weekend I just move it round to work rather than sorting it out. Then every few weeks I have to have a tidy up.

Its good to see I'm not the only one, but i do appear to have fitted the most onto my bench, gets kinda hard to work on it after about six months. This is the point where i have to attach it and give it a monster clean up!

Technically not mine but it's where I do all the work on my cars - our garage is filled with the other project! And so on and so forth. The drawers are where all the tools go Most of mine have been in there at least twice, apart from the 1500SE which never gave any grief ;D

or do you mean 'work' area as in where you work on your car? the tiny bit of shed space i have the drive: the bedroom: the living room chair: the back garden: not having somewhere proper to work on your car means that the car enters the house and takes over your life ;D

When it's tidy and empty it looks like this Better view of the extension part (normally only car storage area) However once you start getting cars in it there isn't a lot of room left At the moment thanks to D&B's help Saturday night there is a modern rice burner in the front section!!!!

Thats a nice place you got there Bstardchild, I'd love a place like that! I think i would have the car in the front and a workshop out back, with a CNC mill, small lathe, pillar drill, all the welding and fabrication kit. MmmmMmM Dreamy ahaha

MmmmMmM Dreamy ahaha J It was once a single std garage with an alleyway between the house and the garage for access to the rear garden..... First step stick a door in at each end and hey presto same length garage but 5 ft wider ;D Trouble was it wasn't actually long enough to get a Senator or Carlton in so Phase 2 was add a 5.5 mtre ext on the back end with a pitched roof (more storage) It's 3.5m (3.1m at the narrow end) by 11.5 m deep now and whilst it will never have the everyday usability of a proper double garage it's good enough for what I want to do

as of sunday mine now looks like this, and as I'm sure Seth will testify is MUCH more organised! I'm sure this still looks a state, but everything on the RHS is being sold/ditched, the bags in the middle are wiring looms about to go up in the loft, the bikes will be hung, the screwfix box unpacked, the beetle dash is going up in the loft and the chest is coming indoors. That leaves a row of boxes against the LHS wall, and a row of seats against the back - which should see my bike back undercover by the end of this weekend! The 'business end' isnt looking quite as good, but its looked a lot worse!

Mines a bit of a sh it-tip at the minute. I normally give it a good tidy up after I finish each job and leave gear all over the place while working. But its worse than normal at the minute as I have the interior and a load of panels and parts from a citroen xantia I was breaking in the garage, a set of rover seats, my monza interior, the new seats for my monza. My weights bench and punchbag (while my bottom shed is out of use), a load of power tools (stuff that me and my dad were reconditioning). A set of fibreglass wings/bubblearches for my mk1. Loads of angle iron, box section and sheet steel and a rusty discovery. Not the best of pics but you get the idea
