I think I may have caught a bug that means I cant go more than a few months without buying some shonky old motor, and I think I caught it from this site. Before I joined I had owned the same single car since October 2004 and now since May I have bought at least five cars, pretty tame compared to some people on here but way higher than before I joned Should I resign myself to this illness and go back to trawling E-bay for the next retro shed? Is there a cure? Is it even an illness? Three cars currently in my watch list

It is definitely an illness.
I've stopped for the time being though. We moved into our house 21/2 years ago. In that time I have bought:
1 Mini (still got) 1 Mondeo (still got, family hack) 1 Sierra (sold on) 1 Golf (sold on) 1 Escort (still got)

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

It's coming up to a year I think since I bought a car, that's impressive going considering how much time I spend hanging around here! ;D

If you'd have asked last week it would have been about 2 1/2 years for me. As you've asked this week its three days

You know what??
Before I discovered this forum I thought it was only me!!
I've got a slightly different attitude, partly dictated by space, partly by time, and partly by finance....I can't own more than two because we haven't got room, and working six days a week (as well as driving during the week I do one day from home on-call for the family recruitment agency at the weekend...that's how come I get to spend all day on here) means that time's at a premium. Which is why I tend to have some fun in something, then sell it on for someone else to enjoy. Usually at a loss!!
Which goes some way towards explaining why I have a hankering for something British and 1960's.....which would mean parting with the Range Rover. But I just...can't....decide!!

Does also depend what you mean by "buy." I'm now the registered keeper of my Metro but I haven't yet handed over any money for it and it isn't either working or anywhere near my house yet. Have I bought it?!

Glad to know it's not just me then ;D It could be worse I could have a crack addiction, though that would probably be cheaper Yeah all those lucky gits that get given free cars don't have to count them, buying a car is a conscious decision, being given a car is fate I actually think addiction is probably not too strong a term to describe it, I guess I get a buzz out of bidding on E-bay (gambling) then winning something and having to drive back from the middle of nowhere wondering if its going to break down (more gambling) then once you have had the car a few months the novelty has worn of you have to repeat the whole process again.
