seth in da house: I NEED to know about that delivery truck in the background
Have no clue to what it is but I think it's some American Milk Truck or something, remeber seeing pix of it somewhere and I think it's fitted with Air Ride, billet wheels and a nasty V8.....

Just fine, sorry I can not give ya all a sneak since the lid is on untill Custom Bike Show on June 2'nd but I can say as much as 2 Swedish bike & kustom magazines are calling all the time to get first chance at a story, I did not really expect all this interest and I hope to God I can live up to the expectations.....

Mitch, that looks lovely Any more pics? A question about those choppers, surely they're horrible to ride with all that rake, length and seating position? Or, are they actually fast/chuckable ?

A question about those choppers, surely they're horrible to ride with all that rake, length and seating position? Or, are they actually fast/chuckable ? Some of the billetbarges aren't so good with the riding position, but a lot of the cooler (in my opinion) older ones are more practical, and of course have little in the way of fancy doodads to add to the weight so can be made to hustle, but if you really wanna hustle, build a cafe racer and put up with neck ache and wrist pains like I do

They're awful to ride! Fun for about 2 minutes then your back, arms and bum (usually these bikes are rigid framed) all ache. Corners are scary unless you are at high speed but then they're horrible at high speed too. I'll sort out some pics later. Anyway, should we be talking about bikes on a car site? ;D

Very rarely Even OCC use off the shelf frames for their one off bikes. The v low volume bike creators do make their own though.

two different things. firstly a bobber is (traditionally) an ex-service bike that has the front and rear mudguards shortened (bobbed) and all extraneous items removed. A chopper is a bike that has been chopped about,ie had the frame chopped about, had the rake altered, had a hardtail welded on, had the fuel tank changed...blah blah...it should be stripped down,be loud and not appeal to your gran. There are plenty of companies in the UK that can provide you with frames and all the extraneous items,it depends what you want to build. Your best start is to find a complete bike that runs and then tear it apart.

HotWire in da house: So whats the deal with building a bobber or chopper? Where do things usually come from??
If you look in Dice Magazine and others that feature "Joe Blow" built Triumphs & Harleys most of the frames are old rigids or stock frames with either bolt on or weld on ridgid rears the rest of the parts are a mix-match of swap meet finds and of the shelf parts to get the look. Some of the big name builders like Jesse Rooke, Roland Sands, Isto, Walts and other make their own custom frames while most of the bikes built by Redneck, OCC, Big Bear Choppers and many many others use ready made custom built frames that now are a huge biz, sadly it has shown even in the AMD Championship that many of the bikes there are built on similar "off the shelf frames" and IMHO that don't belong at that level of bike building but "monney rules" I guess.....
DP says it over & over again: If you really want to see a real bike built get Choppertown The Sinners DVD.....

surely thats missing the point of it using an off the shelf frame?
i guess then thats why so many of OCC's theme bikes look technically the same but just with a different assortment of tat attached.
