this is my l200 truck. As you can see its been lowered a fair amount, you'll be happy to know the back now matches the front, (almost) I'm wanting to make it a little more fancy, as it stands its just standard but low, with a set of gmc yukon 16s. I'm thinking about a new paint job and a nice shiny set of wheels. However the main problem i have is 6 stud wheels are generally a bit naff. Plus any of the larger sizes come in some awful offsets that just aren't going to suit. so i'm thinking about swapping the pcd to a wheel friendly 5 stud. so...... turns out mitsubishi l300 express van hubs will slot straight into the fronts... but struggling to find a single one being broken for spares. The rears are drums brakes, is it possible to just re drill the cases to the correct pcd? if not i take it an axle swap would be the only way? what about adaptors? struggling to find anyone who makes 6x139 to 5x114 adaptors, is it even possible? if it is maybe getting an engineering firm to knock some up would be the cheapest and easiest way... any thoughts/ideas would be well appreciated

Being a commercial vehicle, and hence load rated to fairly high axle weights, fiddling with adaptors and using smaller, weaker stud patterns is quite legally questionable. Not to mention that most 5-stud wheels won't be load rated to take the axle weight limits of the vehicle.
I'm surprised that the 2wd version doesn't come with 5 stud wheels anyway though? On Hiluxes, the 2wd versions are 5-stud and the 4wd versions are 6-stud.

I'm not sure theres any legality issues with those in this country, though its a valid point to say they might not be up to the job if you're carrying a ton of boulders back from the quarry or whatever.

Legally you'll be fine with the adapters, technically you should probably have sufficiently load rated wheels but if you aren't going to be carrying any weight, I don't think anyone will notice if you accidentally grind the load rating off the back of the alloy wheel. Just don't be a nob put tonnes of stuff in the back then plough through the window of a hairdressers when one of the wheels snaps off.
As for adapters, a bloke called Gary Thomas made me a brilliant set and loads of people seem to be quite pleased with his work. Ge doesn't have a website, drop him an email at gar.thoms@hotmail.co.uk
He made me 5x130 to 5x112 and 5x120 on the same adaptors, set of four for £220 including all the bolts, and postage, and vat etc. which is cheaper than buying adapters from that adaptitusa place, even before you add on postage, import fees, vat and the rest. At $100 per adapter, I doubt you would see change from £400 by the time they had landed in the UK.

thanks i'll drop him an email. the main issue with 4x4 wheels is the offset, they are very low, like +10 and thus stick out from the bodywork.

oh and don't worry, i've removed a couple of leaves out the pack and had them reprofiled almost flat, so carrying weight is well out, most i carry is a 200kg motorbike

Won't the L300 rear axle fit or be modified to fit. If your struggling to find a breaking L300 what about Hyundai H100, essentially the same van, probably still hard to find a breaker though.

L300 van or H100 too. I'm not too sure about the 2WD L200's but I'm pretty sure the 4WD rear axles are wider than the L300's and H100's rear axles (i.e. you might be able to get a narrower axle = WIDER wheels!)
