Found this forum last night and was impressed with everyone else's cars. This is my current car though ive got a 320d in getting painted atm so this will be for sale shortly. So anyways, I'm Campbell. I'm from lanark, scotland and I had been hunting for something big and stupid for a while and eventually found this. Car is a 96' 728i Auto Covered 103,000 miles Came with 15 stamps in the history (majority bmw stamps up untill very recently) Has ALL the toys inc soft close boot, leather, memory seats ect. All iv'e done so far is replace the bmw badge on the bonnet which was a bit past it and replaced a brake light. Ive ordered some hids which should go nicely with the projector headlights and a set of number plate lights. Ill update when they are fitted pics: Hids and smds in: more of the interior n stuff Very impressed with the results. And I have to say, I'm enjoying the luxury. Just wafting around.

Hi and welcome to RR Campbell. Your BMW appears to be a very tidy example and that interior looks well comfy. Personally I prefer the 5 series 'cause I'm a short but if you want to cruise around in comfort coupled with a decent chassis I can't think of anything I'd sooner be in, especially for the money. Niiiice.

Fantastic big barge , i've been running one daily for just over a year, much the same as you just fancied something big and comfy to waft around in. Mine had the same alloys as yours but bought the staggered 18" M-parallels and fitted them with huge 285's on the rear and 255's front, also fitted angel eyes, clear indicators and late spec rear lights.

Beautiful. I like these E38's very very much. I have my old one in the avatar. I will have another in my life one day. A larger picture of my old one, a 740i from a few years ago with a 335i cabby I did.

Is the colour Glacier blue mate? Mine ?, not Glacier, did find out a while ago but i've forgot now, it's the same colour as RR's above anyway Great cars, only real headache seems to be the fuel tanks which rot, mine has been patched up in the past and i had to patch it up again for last MOT, BMW would want something insane like £2000 to supply and fit a new one, cheapest new tank i've found on the net is about £740, a mate of mine knows of a place doing them for £400'odd so will check that out as i recon mine will probably need replaced next year.

No I was asking Cambellsneddon.
Looking for a shade of silver/blue for my wheels and I think his BM is glacier blue.
If it is, in the flesh is it more blue or silver?
Cheers

Hi Campbell, trying to recognise your street as I lived in Lanark for several years and then built a house out at Carmichael. Who's running the Tavern now ? I believe Brodie's in Portugal . Anyway these E38's are stupendous value and that looks a good one .I'm pretty envious as I'm searching UK and Ireland for a good E24 and wish I could turn up as good an example as that . Do you know that that would cost over €1600 euro a year to just tax over here ! Good luck with it..

haha. I'm not too sure. Its across from stanmore house. Built the houses here around 10 years ago. Next to stanmore stables.
Haha. I'm actually moving to Australia next year and these go for $8000+ in oz haha. Id love to export it but its difficult when you are not a resident.

Nice! I don't think i've seen a 728 with steptronic before. Quite cool with the stock rims too, like a buddy of mine said "real gangsters don't run 20" chrome wheels." ;D A little lowering wouldn't hurt though
