Eeew I really don't like that bonnet on the Fuego. The sharp corner just above the indicator looks particularly nasty IMO. Shame as otherwise it rocks. Ditto! I'm not a fan of the 'bad-boy' bonnet (mainly due to its Lax Power / Trevs connotations) but radius that ugly sharp corner and it actually looks like it's meant to be there. Nice also to see that it has it's standard door mirrors - black, & mounted on the black trim strip, and that neither have been colour coded (rather than having tacky boy racer ones fitted). The lack of a body kit, but just colour coded bumpers suits it very well.

How strange that Renault have a reputation for ordinary cars (unlike Citroen who are kings of the avant garde) and yet... most Renault designs stand the test of time as well as Citroens and much better than Peugeots. Re 16, 17, 5, Fuego, even to a degree the 14 and 18 still have a certain something today.
Will the big assed Megan cut the mustard in 20 years. My guess is that it will.
Here's to Renault, the unsung producers of stylish cars!

They have more of a chance of making it to 20 years old than some new cars too. (BMW 5/7 series anyone? )
