Off to the summernats tomorrow and Saturday - biggest custom car show in Australia. www.summernats.com.au/We drove down to Canberra yesterday and saw plenty of fantastic looking rides including a green Caddy lowrider on a trailer with trick paint. Hoping to see lots of Ozzie lows tomorrow. I know there a few Ozzies on here. Anyone else on the forum going? Pictures and write up to follow in the next few days...

Have a great time. I am a regular at the show, this is the first year i am likely to miss in a long while, still hope I might make it down on the weekend. I built a car for it but the interior wasn't finished intime so its no longer entered, and the regulars I have gone with the past few years on holidays so I will decide if I can afford the petrol and entry etc. with my other expenses at the moment. Where are you staying outside of Canberra utterpiffle?

Where are you staying outside of Canberra utterpiffle? Hope you can make it down. Would be good to have a Retro Rides meet up on the other side! We are currently staying at a Hostel called Victor House, in the Canberra suburb of Kingston - about 6 clicks from site. Will be heading down to Merimbula on Sunday for a few days, then slowly making our way back up the coast to Sydney from the 15th till the 27th. Down to Victoria after that. You anywhere near any of those places?

I am about 30 minutes to an hour north of Sydney depending on what you consider Sydney. Although I am back at work next monday after the holidays so chances are I wont be free when your up anyway. If its a wekkend be sure to let us know might have some cars you might like to see in the built, untouched ready to go or recently completely around the place. Depending on how much time you have.

Just letting you know guys the website has very little on it, I am pretty sure there was about 1500 car entered last year. This year I am not too certain on whats debuting but I can guarentee there will be some crazy cars both horsepower and bodywork wise. Like a Army built truck/tank with a 1500BHP engine stuffed inside.

Really can't be arsed to upload loads of photos now, as is bloody late and I've had far too much beer. But what a cracking day! Never been to a car show before where I had no idea what half the cars were! Will get round to uploading some more photos in the morning, but here is a taster... There was lots of this... And plenty of stuffing silly engines in small Japanese cars... Took over 500 photos, so will post many more soon. Stay tuned...

But what a cracking day! Never been to a car show before where I had no idea what half the cars were! thats what I fill like alot of the time looking and the stuff you guys get over your way, if there is anything at all your curious about don't hesitate to ask. Nice choice is pic to show, thats one of my all time favourite cars and has been doing the rounds in the burnout comps for a few years now and very successfully. Its a S/C 454 chev in a corolla exactly the same as mine which weighs quite a bit under 1000kg. Oh yeah and underneath those novelty plates are its real street plates ;D. I think I will stick to a more sedat 1UZ or 302 for my eventual conversion though. Andrew

I really dislike the massive frontmount exposed look.
