Right I think its about time I appeared after last months meet (I am supposed to be organiser now) ! I did notice a couple of issues last time and these were as follows:
Late on when everyone was leaving we recieved a visit from Mr police man (not forgetting his loveley assistant, and of course his apple core) .... The reason for their visit was because of a report about racing around while leaving the venue! My opinion is a very simple one, I'm sure that it is also shared by others and is as follows ..... If you want to have massive willy waving contests, sod off somewhere else and have some respect for the pub management who allow this meet to continue there! Don't ruin it for everyone else please.
Secondly I had a polite request from our friendly landlady host, If you take drinks down the car park could you please return the empties to the pub instead of just leaving them
This meet has to remain a family friendly event, so please save your petrol and refrain from showing off!
Next meet to continue as normal on Monday 4th August hope to see a good turn out *weather depending*

This is the last time I'm going to tell anyone in the slightest bit niceley on this matter! The thrashing your cars while leaving or arriving at Meadow farm pub HAS GOT TO STOP!!!! Management at the premises have clearly and expressly voiced the opinion that if this behaviour does not stop we will be told to leave the premises! After all it is their property, and as for the dumbasses partaking in these ways THEY DO HAVE CCTV IN THE CAR PARK YOU DUMBASSES! And another thing, I'm not a fecking glass collector .... take them back if you use them it's not like I haven't asked before!
IF YOU WANT TO GET THE MEET CLOSED DOWN DON'T LET ME STOP YOU AS I WONT DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT AS THE ONES RESPONSIBLE HAVE GOT CLOTH EARS
other than that ... nice turnout, good meet again. I'm sure pics will be added shortly

Just to add to that, the vast majority seem to understand that the showboating will get us moved on from a bloody good location, but theres a small minority that doesn't - you probably think I'm being a killjoy, but you'll ruin peoples fun by getting us kicked out. You have the rest of the country's roads, and the other 364 days of the year to bounce it off the limiter or drift out of car parks, can you not just tone it down in this one place so we all have a good place to talk cars and appreciate each others work?
It's not a lot to ask, don't ruin it for everyone else.

Must have been after we left then...wasn't me though, my old Jag can't get anywhere near the limiter, nevermind drift anywhere!
First time I've been to this meet, went to the Meadowhall one for a while but stopped going when all the numpties started spoiling it. Liked the venue, although I don't think there's half the turnout that there was at meadowhall...and there seemed to be 90% Fords?
Not a bad meet though and I'll go again.

It pushed me a little bit closer to sacking off the Merc for a Jaaaag

I think the problem is with this meet is most of the people who turnout do so from word of mouth and are not part of the Retro Rides community, so announcing it on here to tell them to stop larking will most likely not reach your target audience i'm afraid It's the same as happened at Meadowhell Retail Park Only other solution i can think of is to make up a rudimentary flier for next months meet asking people to calm down or risk getting closed down, and then stick it under everyone's windscreen wiper Oh, and photos will be up later this evening, didn't get chance to edit them all last night

If they have CCTV then in addition to the flyer idea above, might be time to start noting the reg numbers of repeat offenders down, either bar them from the car park or give them to friendly plod.

The blue capri did take someone out and ragged it down the road and back. Wasn't exactly quiet

There was an E36 getting sideways out of the car park as well, that was the worst I saw.

Managed to cobble it together though and it runs well now!

Think over the last 3-4 maybe even 5 years I've been going to a retro rides South Yorkshire meet there has been at least a handful of people giving a few beans when leaving an truth be known I enjoy it an its part of what keeps me going if you was to lose this small amount of showboating it would be a very dull meet if you look back on how much goes on o what used to go on you really har nothing to moan about its just part of what meets are about

How do you think that looks to the pub management? And how it looks to the pubs ordinary customers? And your point about it being what meets are about, yeah it was, and now all the big meets and cruises are a rarity because they've either been shut down by police, or have a huge police presence.
