Twas a very small meet last night, there where a couple of cars then when i arrived who left shortly after, then the usual Rotherham crowd turned up (CRX, MK2 Golf, EK Civic, Nissan Sunny Coupe) and Mr Vulgalour's brother i believe with his bluey/purple Golf Clipper with the amazing roof, that thing is a work of genius haha Anyway, i only really got one photo last night due to the cold and small turn out, but it did take me about half an hour to set it up #006 - CRX by RichPICings, on Flickr

I hope so too, it was a little corker but having some running issues. Be excellent to see another Mk1 Polo there. All being well I should make this one so I'll be in the Princess as usual.

There's nothing on their website about this and having missed last month's meet I was unaware of the place being closed. Have just given them a call but there's no answer, I'll drop them an e-mail and try and call again tomorrow during office hours to see if I can find out for definite what's happening.

That will be why I missed it. Have you a link to it? I've only just started using FB again after a few years absence and only use it for promoting my artwork rather than social/personal stuff so I hadn't thought to check if Meadow Farm were on there too.

I've had an extra confirmation from Meadow Farm themselves now too so I would say we cancel the February meet - it'll be really cold anyway, and probably chucking it down, right? - and rearrange for the 3rd of March.
Charity Fun Run
In 2014, I'd like to do a Fun Run to raise funds for a charity of the group's choosing. Personally, I'd like to raise money for a charity that helps those injured, or the families of those bereaved, in motorsport. Since injury and fatalities are part and parcel of motorsport I assume there must be a charity to support those affected and for me it makes sense that we as a group support this as we never know when we might need them. The only charity I know of that may be suitable is St Johns Ambulance and while they do a very worthwhile job, they're not exactly what I have in mind.
There is no route planned at the moment, this is the very initial planning stages, but I'm thinking holding the run somewhere between May and August to make the best of the weather and allow time to raise sponsorship. This wouldn't be a race, it would be purely a charity fundraising opportunity as well as an opportunity to get out in the cars that turn up to the meet.
I'm hoping to get Meadow Farm involved too as our start/finish point, especially since we have a pretty good relationship with them and they are quite happy to have us turn up and mob their car park once a month.
Your suggestions on this will be very welcome.
Facebook I'm going to get a Facebook page set up in the next few days for ease of reference and to get the word out about the meet at Meadow Farm. I'm not a fan of the site, but I am aware it's lax of me not to have sorted something out by now and since we're settled nicely at Meadow Farm it seems to be high time I did something about it. This will also help when it comes to getting notices out to people promptly, particularly if the venue is closed - which I missed by NOT being on Facebook - or there's anything the group needs to know about.

Next Meet - 3rd of March. I will confirm this with Meadow Farm but as far as I'm presently aware we're good to go. Fun Run - I've had www.ben.org.uk/ suggested as a suitable charity. They provide support and help for those in the automotive industry, people that help keep our hobby alive and an industry that many who run modified and classic cars are employed by or closely connected to. If anyone has a more fitting suggestion, or a problem with us adopting this charity for the fun run please do speak up.

Yes, we are still on. I've been afk most of the weekend, but I've had confirmation via Facebook from the pub that they're open and ready to go. Wrap up warm, it's set to be a cold night apparently.

First of all, big thanks to everyone for turning up on such a cold night! Great to see familiar cars and faces along with some new of the same. My pictures aren't great as I'm waiting on a data cable for my new camera so apologies in advance for the shonkiness and for not getting a snapshot of everyone... but here goes anyway. We've had a Delta and a Dedra before, but this is the first Lancia Thema to attend to my knowledge. It's also the first Thema I've seen outside of a photograph and had a very inviting green (though it looks brown in my picture) interior. Arriving with this was a superb SAAB 900 with any interior that looked like it had never been used and an exterior not that far behind. My other half accompanied me in his recently restored 1971 Alfa Romeo GTV, the first his business has completed and which is now available to purchase. This weekend has been a proving run for the car and it has performed admirably, surprisingly refined place to be... anyway, enough of the sales pitch, should you be interested do drop me a line and I'll pass your details on. Lined up with us was a Nissan Sunny available for under a grand and in fine fettle, my trusty rusty old Princess and a smartly modified Ford Fiesta. All good stuff. Very clean Sierra 4x4 parked next to regular Mick's Simca. Two Omegas, the one on the left is Dad's the one on the right my brother's new steed. These cars are exactly the same, but different. Lovely little Honda. I'm yet to get a reasonable shot of this Datsun pick-up which is a very appealing thing, parked next to a regular's MX-5, another Mick not to be confused with Simca-Mick. Tidy yellow (though it looks beige here) Mk2 Escort Mexico, sounded very nice arriving and presumably leaving too. Puglet. I don't know which Mercedes Benz this is, but it was gigantinormous. Looked like a subtle drop had been applied to good effect. Next meet is due to be on Monday the 7th of April.
