Love a good G15 I've been bugging my mate to buy one for ages. Might show him your thread I don't think you need to worry about the new MoT stuff. My impression was that it was sort of a rolled-into-one tax exemption and MoT exemption for older cars that are close enough to stock. You were always free to not claim tax exemption, and you're free now to not claim MoT exemption and keep going as a 'regular' car.

cheers, never mind your mate getting one, why don't you too lol
MOT, yeah I'm just going to keep taking it, its never really a worry when it only covers 500 max miles a year at the moment and I take it apart quite frequently so youd hope Id notice anything amiss!
Cheers Chris

December 2011 I got this little ginetta and started the build, I had no real direction when I started and it's just kind of arrived at where it is today.
I had initially been playing around with the idea of doing some sort of track work in the form of sprint and hills but never did and then took the car further away from that idea with it's spec.
now after very little use and no opportunity to use it midweek or weekend's with the kids I've decided it's time to do something different with it, I want to get in the tracks and have some fun.
will be soon taking certain mods off it like the air ride (will use on imp) and start thinking about engine tune options, along with interior mods like full height seat std.
quite looking forward to it in the end, needs to be used!

Hi all, long time no post, I struggle to find time to upload images when facebook ends up being easier and sharing with people on my page! Sorry! During lockdown/working from home Ive had more energy to be bothered touching my car in the first place, not really been used in the last three yers and the brakes had stuck on. Rebuilt master cylinder later and its running again, little drive to remind myself I hated driving it so much due to the supercharger being stupidly loud and it was back off the road. gave me time to sort out a new seat ready for when we can hit some tracks, Lotus provided that, I just had to make up some seat sub frames, soild mount and feels great to drive in, then I set about removing the SC and grafting on a turbo again. Havent ran turbo in at least 8 years and never on this side of the engine, imps always had it on the manifold side. Due to lack of space in the ginetta I opted for the opposite side! gt17 turbo. running well enough to get me to the Rolling Road for a full setup, its still on the injection and DTA ecu so I pay a more grown up person to sort that out for me. Its only making about 3-5 psi at the moment at best which is safe until we set the map up and start messing with the controlled bleed valve! Time will tell if its better, should be, the imp use to run around 14-16psi so looking forward to full boost again (SC was 7 to 9psi) all being well it will get treated to a stainless steel manifold made by a professional. main plus is its sensibly noisy now!

I've read through this thread over the last couple of evenings and even discovered that I posted on it about 7 years ago! Great to see you got it running supercharged, I'm looking forward to the next incarnation now. The wheels are looking great.

Hi All, thought time to update this, the turbo went well on the rolling road, so I had a proper manifold made up, flange got a bit warped so flattened that tested seemed to be sealing well, but now needs another tune up on the rolling road to reset as the airflow seems to be much stronger, had it all booked in for November but I broke my wrist, all fixed booked back in for early Dec then I gets a call from the garage hes had an accident and broke his leg and wrist! 2020 strikes again. So its sitting waiting to be setup again since its not being used at the moment I have this year during lock down etc fitted a high back drivers seat, turbo back on not supercharger, and progressing with hill climb aspirations once again, the air ride is off/normal suspension back on, xtreme dry battery ordered, and a few other things in the pipeline, making progress to finally getting on track next year at some point in some form or fashion! Even set a page up on social media (Ginetta G15 from Road to Track) to show my progress as I change the car about! Will get there in the end, I'm thinking roadgoing/modified class, 13x5.5 wheels will be purchased with tires from the 1a or 1b list then race gear. I will look out for some events this coming year to pop along with the car and hopefully chat to a few people about it all. here are some recent photos, didnt realise on the pc RR website has a photo uploader thats made this much easier, feel more obliged to keep this updated now!!!

Started working on the interior this is how its basically looked since I built the car 10 years ago this week! don't need radio etc so have gone about changing things moved one gauge the battery one to where the air ride gauge was on the dash then this will hold the two oil related gauges and probably one led which turns on when the rad fan comes on, I'm removing the rest, fuel pump and water pump as its pretty darn obvious when they aren't working!much wiring has come out of the dash area already which is nice as things are starting to look more simple again, its amazing how out of control it all got, I remember when I first did it everything was neatly clipped up etc but in time more got addded/messed with and it ended up a right state! then with the kids at home wife in work I couldnt got cut some metal so the 3d printer came out, I'm moving the ignition switch from the column to dash where the 12v power socket was, the hole was too big so printed these spacers with the front one being wider for the IGN ON/OFF sticker to go next to it then some purchases arrived, battery will need to go in the passenger side footwell neatly (running a fluid one behind the seats in a box at the moment) also ordered some new wheels and tires which are on the 1a list and a tow strap for the rear. the Cam is an R17 which will open the valves for longer, something I thought was already fitted but I removed and sold a few years back lol, handy taking photos as I noticed while looking back for something else, quite annoyed with myself for that one haha
