Been doing this for quite some time now....I find it quite interesting to compare times. Site gets quite an amount of hits! Some of the times on the site are ones which I have collected from the net or seen at the 1/4 at Santapod when I have beendown there.. Most of them are submissions directly from the site or from forums such as this. My fastest is a reasonably respectful 15.3 in my mazda (15.6 in 2.0 8V astra) But anyway....here is the link..... www.aj-computing.co.uk/misc/quartermileEither use the email link on the page or submit the following information in this thread.... Car: Year: Power: Time: Name: Excuses: Regards Alex

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

Car: Hey, cool idea, maybe we could compile a RR performance database???
Car: Alfa Romeo Alfasud 1.7 Year: 1983 Power: 76kw at the front wheels (rolling road) 102hp Time: 16.1 @ 85mph Name: Richard Excuses: 2.7sec 60ft, lack of traction, unprepped track (Ruapuna, SI New Zealand) trap indicates the ability for the car to run a mid 15 with a good launch.

Yeah I would second that. Must be a light car to run a 16.1 with 102HP!

Thinking about it....does that make me the equivalent of a train spotter? Oh dear!

VW Golf GTI Mk3 1997 185BHP (est) 13.006s @ 112MPH ----yup that one is probably a lie unless it was on gas. Should be 15.something. But I just have to go on what people say.
Weight has a big factor in it....tis why the modern cars are slow up there when they have more power so 900KG is a big advantage!

I'll be down Santa Pod soon, looking for a low 15's if not less. IIRC the drag calcs put my car as a 13.8 but we all know what they're like ;D
And then it'll be time for a little laughing gas. And.......Oh god, slippery slope of modification!

alex in da house: 1/4 Mile Times
I did some dragracing here in Sweden during the late 70's, early 80's in Pro Stock, Pro Comp and helped out a friend to keep his sponsors in a Nitro Funny Car but I can hardly remeber the times we were doing at the time but after sufring some Swedish Nostalgia Drag Racing sites I came up with some numbers....
In the Sönner Brothers Hemi Challenger Pro Stock 11.3...
In the Donati Brothers "Speedwin" Hemi Cuda Pro Stock 10.5 although it had done 9.61 in The States and Bruno did a 10.2 with it...
In a Don Hardy Race Cars built Ford Mustang II with a Gapp & Rousch 351 Cleveland and 4-speed Lenco I did low 9's and Lars who bought the car in USA did a best 8.90 in the States before it was shipped home...
In Birka Racings Holman & Moody 76-77 Mustang II Pro Stock with a 333 cu in (destroked) Ford Clevland and 4-speed Lenco we did 8'80's all day, you could set your clocks by this little puppy....
In the Mr Crazy Ford Anglia Altered I spent one summer and I think as best we did a 9.95 - 216kph with it....
Lowest ET was i the Funny Car and as I remeber it was low 7's high 6's...
This all was a verry looooong time ago and since beeing close to 50 I can't see it all that clear and don't really think I'd like to end up on someones official list of low ET.....
DP says: Actually had more fun street racing Los Angeles & Las Vegas during the early 90's....

Car: Datsun 160B (SR20DET powered) Year: 1976 Power: About 260-270bhp at a guess Time: 13.32 @ 106.44mph Name: Ed Rattley Excuses: Stock rear suspension with about 10 degrees of negative camber meant no grip in 1st and 2nd so 60ft was around 2.2 to 2.3 secs. Should be running 12's next year

Reliant Kitten 1990 Stock Rover V8 except for K&N air filters and exhaust, cost £100 from the scrap yard, didnt even change the spark plugs. Approx 100bhp at wheels. 12.81 @ 95 mph
As far as I know this is the quickest 1/4 mile ever run with a stock Rover V8 in a saloon car.
Lada Riva 1992 Just under 100bhp at the wheels. 15.62 secs @ 86mph
Morris Minor 1987 75bhp @ 4000rpm at the wheels (estimated 95 bhp @ 6000 rpm) 15.97secs @ 81 mph
Morris Minor 2004 187bhp @ flywheel 14.444 secs @ 94mph (into the wind) 60ft 2.17 secs Best reaction time 0.168 secs
