I'm gonna have a guess at Berliet as the manufacturer... No I'm not...Citroen T55?? Brian Oh yes, it's a Citroen type 55 chassis bodied by Currus, Only a handfull were made (no exact figures available) for Cityrama as tour busses in 1958/59. I found this superb pic/article in the ever informative "Citroenian" which is the Citroen car club magazine. Unfortunatly Philip Greaves who wrote the article has been unable to track down a working/ or even scraped Cityrama, so Rare and hens teeth fit this awsome bus perfectly  |

I'm sure I've seen a pic of one before in one of the 'Vintage Roadscene'-type magazines (mainly trucks and buses...). Awesome bus. Bet they get a bit sweaty in summer though.  Brian |

I've seen one of those in ze flesh in the courtyard of a French chateau/car museum when I was 10 or thereabouts... should look the pictures up one day when I'm at my parents home. Très fraiche!

Based on Citroen T55 This is quite good too That is awsome as well.. according to the Citroenian article four of these were built, one for Pinder, one for Teleavia and two for Frigeavia, they were used as mobile shops and exibition vehicles and were built around 1955-57. Rumers have it that Pinder have kept theres but that is unconfirmed at presant. membres.lycos.fr/hy67/autrescamions.htmOn that site with those pics it also says...... "The famous T55 truck designed by Philippe Charbonneaux with a coachwork by Leffondré for the FRIGEAVIA / TELEAVIA home appliances brand (a subsidiary of the SUD AVIATION COMPANY, which also made the Caravelle medium range jet, hence the rocket-like design). Four were built, they were seen during the Tour de France. One remains the property of the French circus PINDER. |

Just fantastic! The multi-windowed bus and the rocket truck really show up the optimism of the time. Everyone wanted to be in the future, fly into space, build cities on the moon... Not like now when we're preoccupied with our own doom in the next 20-100 years Has anyone got a pic of the GM Futurama bus that toured in the late 1950s? |

When I saw that double decker greenhouse on AS, I thought it was a photoshop  ;D I want!!!!! This would make such a cool camper van, esp with those french windows in the back!!! Would be great fun designing a suitably retro interior for it too ;D |
