Yes, there was deffo an estate and hatch Ghia V6 but I'm not sure about the saloon.

to the bloke who said he'd got the weediest engine, they made a 1.3. personally i don't like the saffs shape, but i like the 3 and 5 door ones. i'd have another one, but it'd have to be more than 4 cylinders or have a turbo.  |

oops, curse word yeah, i actually still own a mk1 sierra ghia estate, they were 2.3 carbed though, so not exactly fast, and i used to own a mk1 4x4 ghia, 2.8i they were. this is the 2.3  this is the 2.8, sold this one now  sorry, brain failiure.  |

the only UK cars to get the V6's were the original XR4i (2.8mfi and rwd) and the XR4x4's (2.8mfi. 2.9efi and 4wd) a 2.9efi rwd version was available in germany which is why all us 24v sierra boys have to get on german ebay to get the right gearbox for our conversions. lol they got a 2 door in the mk2 shape in some countries in europe as well. I seem to remember there was a 2.8i GLS 4x4 as well, but only available as a hatch....must be rare now though!! |

i remember that being on ebay a while back. my bro has always had cossies since i can remeber and i have always loved them!! mike rainbird had a pretty sorted 2wd running approx 500bhp.

I keep wondering if a well looked after old man's Saph, with a Twink fitted from the factory, with money spent on a decent ECU, curse word injectors, a Quaffe slipper and an Ebay Mini blower might be more fun and cheaper than hoping to find a decent unabused and solid non raced Saph cossie. It's like the Quattro, too many of them were either thrashed, nicked, raced or "cherished" until they just gave up through lack of use and still got sold for silly money.
The Saph is falling into that smaller by the year group of modernish, but small and cheap (that seems to define normal retro) group of cars with RWD that is mainly Merc/Volvo/BMW.
As the older ones rust away (across all the brands) there are less and less left.
