Thanks for the kind comments, it's taking me a fair while, but will be worth it in the end ! No aero, just Ghia spec / xr4x4 bumpers and rubber type xr4x4 rear spoiler - no Cosworth spoilers, skirts etc With the Jag diff and T56 gearbox 5000rpm in top will be 161mph No idea what top speed will be, but the 6th will make for a nice motorway gear This should let me work out a rough top speed once I know what kind of power it makes. If it made around 350 bhp it should do 170 ish mph if the gearing is OK

Take a change of undies with you if you try to get it anywhere near that! And a video camera with a really, really good mic. It's going to sound even better than it looks!

That looked like a takalamit? compressor you have, does it hold pressure or slowly lose it like mine ? Also if your running a single phase motor on it how long does it take to build up from empty? Bloody amazing standard of workmanship, the paintwork on the floor panel alone had me transfixed.

If I rememer rightly the later ones had a small plastic lip around the rear quarter window which was supposed to improve high speed stability.

Hi mate, Compressor is a 1964 Ingersol Rand with a 1hp single phase motor, was a freebie from a garage that was undergoing refurbishment. Does lose pressure slowly over a few days...

About time for an update, although I have been a bit lazy lately Got it back from paint, but still waiting on the bumpers, spoiler etc ! Found some bits I'm not so happy with on the sill and front arch lip so re did them... Came out OK in the end New old stock genuine front indicators Complete with horrible orange insert Attacked it with a dremel Will need some silver bulbs now but it looks much nicer - to me anyway Driver's side rear door has a couple of dings that my painter missed, so that is going to get re done as well soon. I got a good deal on the paint job, but it has caused me a lot of grief one way or another! Back axle and Jag diff are at MK Motorsport getting the 6 degree treatment and diff fitted, not sure when it's coming back yet.

Just read this from start to finish. Just the sort of build thread I like with a very high standard of workmanship and fantastic finish throughout. Keep going and kick the painter up the backside for keeping us all waiting!

Nice. Probably shouldn't have scrapped the immaculate one I bought for £50 from a mate ten years ago after the cambelt snapped on me. Damn.

Thats lovely. Its amazing actually, I was discussing the lack of sierra's with a mate. He mentioned it being easier to spot a cortina these days. I think he is right.
