Yes it does! I pay £108 fully comp for the Range Rover with a 5k mileage limit, thats without any NCD coz it's all on the Pug (1.8 non-turbo diesel), which costs me £180 a yr fully comp... But it's a far cry from 1983 when I passed my test, bought a 1967 Triumph 2000 and insured it TPF&T for....wait for it....£40 Brian

My insurance has gone down a bit. I can get a quote for an E30 M3 for 2600 a year!lol. I never used to even get quotes for an M3. 2 years and it should be much lower.

First car 12 years ago, was a Mk2 Escort 1600 Sport - cost me £1200 a year, tpf&t..
Currently paying £186 f/c on the 535i, £100 excess, with 2 years no claims.. Can't say fairer than that really!

Nice one Jonny! Cheap motoring FTW Was only 90 quid extra on my premium to go from my 1500, worth about 500, to my 3.5, worth about 1500 ;D I did actually go "Yea!" the moment they said that.......was panicking they might not insure me!

It did get cheaper, but moving to manchester has not helped at all! I'll be doing a good shop around next year. Whos that with Jonny?

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

had my disagreements with them already this year. address change to posh area meant 30% premium hike. no choice. so i'll leave em out of my enquiries. Cheers mate

Ah that's not good news. Things going wrong with this car are escalating now, I'm getting fed up with it.

That's a very good price! Using the quick quote, Lancaster want £466 for 7500 miles on my Amazon, fully comp, parked on the street etc, assuming it's unmodified (wanted very silly money when mods declared over the phone). However Flux charged me £430 for unlimited mileage, fully comp etc with the mods declared & 1 years ncb Oh, and Lancaster would be charging me £346 for a Pop

Jonny BTW don't worry about what i said, i think everyone has a gripe with an insurance company (all of em probs), its not any kind of slating, they just wont be on my next years ring round list thats all. Good for you getting a good quote, it will get well soon am sure.

My main gripe with insurers is that the vast majority of them want over a grand for a shonky old RWD minicab because they don't have the sense to count NCB from other cars.
I love doing the online quotes and seeing how things affect the price, e.g. standard car £800, then add alloy wheels and it instantly becomes £1800 because if you have alloy wheels you're obviously a supermarket car park racer.
Something I wonder is if people know what constitutes a modification, if alloy wheels literally doubles some quotes, these people must really be paying the price for having a set of kerbed old TSWs on a tatty old Punto!

Hirst you are best off with second car quotes from likes of Flux and roadsure, they take your risk into consideration. alloys add more scally interest sadly. Sapphs getting standard ones back on for winter i think...

I've found that for some reason most classic car insurance car company's seem to think that everyone that owns a classic is over 25 because most wouldn't insure me at 24!! I'm with flux at the minute but will have a good ring round next year.
