Hi All, My name is Double Clutch. I've just created an account of RETRO-RIDES. I'm living in Japan and I met HoTWire and rmad when they came to Hot Olds meet in Japan. Yes, I'm Japanese and living in Tokyo. I was surprised but really glad to see there are so many enthusiastic fans of Japanese car in UK and Europe countries. I would like to have contact with international Japanese car fans more, so finally came to here ;D I'm interested in '70s - '80s Japanese car and American car, especially unusual rare car like police package and commercial vehicle. Actually I own some these kind of cars like "'71 Nissan Gloria (230C)", "N320 Datsun Pickup", "C31 Laurel", "Y30 Cedric Van", "Mazda Boxer Crane truck" and "'80 Mercury Colony Park Ambulance". If anyone have a question or would like to talk about Japanese old car lifestyle, please let me know. Keep in touch.

Fantastic selection you have there! Puts my wrecks to shame.
I particularly like the pickuptruck. Don't know why, there's just something about it.

Irasshaimase DoubleClutch,
You will find plenty of Japanese old car fans here, I've got three mitsubishi Sapporos (Galant/Lambda) and we have quite a few Datsun, Mazda and Toyota fans as well.
Hopefully I'll be making a visit to Japan soon so I'd love to hear about the old car lifestyle some more, Rmad and Hotwires journey last year really inspired me to experiance it myself.
Sumimasen.

Hello there,
I have a simple question- what are the 'rules' regarding old cars in Japan? ...can you use them as everyday tansport/daily drivers?
Reason I ask is because we get a lot of newer cars imported in Britain and wounder if there is some problem with registering a car when it reachs a certain age in your country?
Nice cars, really like the American estate cars (do you get a lot of American cars still sold in Japan?)

Hi double clutch!!!
I'd like to copy Twincam and ask you, what are the rules like in japan for using old cars? Can you drive one whenever you like, or are there restrictions on their use?
