Now I see - suppose £8 + P&P isn't bad anyway...
Did they supply all the gaskets you needed?

I like long walks, especially when they're taken by people I don't like.

No, but it takes the stock inlet one anyway. The carbs are all sealed by rubber O rings It was 8 for the nuts, then 2.50 for a sticker to qualify for minimum order of 10 quid, then 5 quid p+p. It all adds up Everytime I spend something on the car it reminds me that I only paid £75 for the thing ;D ;D

I keep wondering why I'm going to spend £££'s on the engine conversion when the whole car only cost me £150 in the first place! Thought, I keep telling the wife that selling the old engine and weber and all the other bits of the KR I won't need will pay for all the parts / work...but I don't think she's that dumb

As a mate said, the price you pay to buy an old car or bike is just the deposit! Once you've got it, then the real payments start!! ;D

could you not just pull the studs and use high tensile allen bolts? interesting watching this thread, trials and tribulations and all that. just keep telling yourself its gonna be great when you've finished (which it will be)

You could if it wasn't for the difficulty of getting the bolts in while holding the inlet gasket and manifold in the right place down the back of the engine without cross threading the cheese soft alloy head I thought about them but studs and ickle nuts was easier, if slightly more expensive

Oh, and thanks to help from Graeme, the new (3rd) engine is in but I'm away this weekend at the VWDRC agm so I won't get a chance to connect it up and try it until monday at the earliest.
Hopefully Graeme'll post the pictures of the parts car I bought yesterday - it is without a doubt the worst car I have ever owned, evAr! ;D ;D ;D
