Just thinking out loud again, I'll likely soon sell 1 or both my current dailies looking for thoughts and ideas for next years daily ride. this if I don't buy another crazy project!
Ok so the emphasis is not so strong this time for a filming chariot, I have people to help here. but ideally it would be nice to have a good back up plan car of my own, just incase.
So criteria is
Daily, idealy with;
-reasonably small-medium size hatch back and 4+ seats,
-RWD, BX is the main exemption
-fast enough to be fun and chase faster cars
-fun when pushed a bit and potential to handle well
-minimal hassle - good reliability etc
-doesnt cost a bomb to drive
happy medium between the sapph and MR2 IMO not as nice to look at as the MR2 though, if its half as comfy as my Micra it should be great.
should be Easy to find a nice en well under £1k if i look.
Not the most imaginative choice but devil you, fast, economical, rwd, plus I have nice wheels and suspension components ready to go on one, don't look as nice as a sapph and seems silly to have two of the same cars. but at the prices these go for well sub £1k will buy me the best!
16v would be nice, V fast, perfect suspension, fixin tricky though. The only FWD's in the current list, worth it just for its practicality and toys such as ABS. Hard to find a 16v so pricier, £1k+ ? TD, not my bag but turbo gives it a kick and I'll save money on purchase, and money on diesel.
To hell with carting people and curse word about, this is one fun daily just for getting me about in. spend winter and money, getting it all nice, put those wheels new wheels with new rubber on, custom fix a nice comfy bucket set, have a good look at making it daily proof and rely on other people or getting the Cortina done for other stuff. would probs be my only one for 2007 then inc RR show.
Now probs not the cheapest to run on the list, what engine to go for?
I have just seen some lovely examples on google image, heres a nice standard one so not to tip the vote. I wasn't mad on the image of em but Google has just changed that! I don't know much about em, expensive to run but Decent car is my guess!
Earnling Minus retro points and the most expensive on the list, plus I'm still not sure about about that boot cut off either but it is an hatch, and the newee 3 series look nice IMO, what engine to go for? 1.8? Never been in one but this seems to be an idea to look into, should be fun and economical being a compact, and its nowhere near as ugly as a 1 series :x
Mods would be blacked grille and wide steelies.
