my brother's scirocco is totally stock atm, i reckon that it needs very little work to give a vast improvement (visually, not performance wise), as its xmas soon i was thinking about maybe getting him some better wheels, and possibly some clear indicators. From what i've seen the side repeaters are easy to get as they're used in golfs etc, but can't seem to find the front units anywhere. anyone know if they can still be got and if so where from and how much? Also, what do people think about these wheels: found an example here: (hope it's ok to use this pic? found in GTXTRA's Beaulieau thread) was originally thinking 7x15s, possibly BBS/E30 type wheels, but these are nice, plus they are cheap and same tyre size as the steels. car is white btw.

Clear indicators for Xmas - I want a brother like you!! You can find the odd set on ebay.de, but they are v.expensive.
Clear side-repeaters - as you've said fit a variety of VAG cars (including Porsche) so are relatively cheap and easy to find.
Wheels - depending on costs there are a lot of choices...what you've found are nice but common and no where near enough offset / dish...if your pocket stretches that far, then find a nice set of Borbet's

I like long walks, especially when they're taken by people I don't like.

For wheels go with OEM VAG - there's some really nice ones that really suit the shape of the scirocco, like Montreals or P-Slots.... not a massive fan of the scala ones pictured (they're called Avus, more commonly called Scala wheels as they were standard feature of the Scirocco Scala) but they do look a lot better painted dark instead of the polished fronts they normally have. think they're just too angular for the car. perhaps try the Estoril ones from a Corrado? see here for more inspiration... most oem wheels from the 80's and 90's are available filthy cheap from ebay or breakers. the 'BBS E30' ones you describe are most likely BBS RA's - available in 13" from Polo G40's (too small for a Scirocco really, look lost in the arch) and 14" and 15" from later Golf GTIs front clear indicators are really hard to come by... if you ask on www.sciroccoregister.co.uk or no-rice.com they often do group buys from MTS but they still come in at over 80 quid a pair.

surely this one is a joke: not too keen on the montreal or estoril ones, montreals are a bit plain for me, estorils are good on the right car, but not sciroccos really imo. these (silverstones) look really cool, but again not on a scirocco: these are pretty cool though (ronal R8s): edit: also anyone know the tyre size of standard scirocco 14" steels? i'm pretty sure they were 185x??x14 can't remember the profile though, 60? 70?

If you can search for BMW spec BBS RAs then these are extra special. They have a wider rim, so have a nice subtle lip/dish to them. I'll have a look for a piccie.
They are pretty rare but BMW drivers don't appreciate them as much as VW drivers so bargains can be found.

those look perfect, thanks! pretty close to me too 7.5 won't be too wide though will it? I know 7"s fit, and iirc 35mm is standard offset. edit: ooh yeah i see what you mean tarka, thanks i didn't know that. i doubt i'll have very much choice between them though really, it needs to be close, cheapish and quite soon! so i'll literally grab the first ones that would be suitable!

I never liked Avus wheels 'til 'vw' did that black/striped set. And I sold a set of those for £20 only last weekend... Std 14" tyre size is 185/60, and 15" is 195/50, but some people fit 195/45 for a bit more clearance. From forums/ebay/etc 14" wheels tend to go for £20 to £80 max, but you'll be lucky to get a set of 15"ers for less than £100... nearer £130-150 usually. I reckon Silverstones look good on a Scirocco - but I would say that because they are what I ran on mine before fitting Estorils. Silverstones: Estorils: Generally I think smoother, less 'spokey' designs suit the Scirocco shape, but that may be just me. Another advantage of the Silverstones is that you can polish up the centrecap (it's ali) as well as the rest of the wheel, unlike the usual polished P-sluts. I love the Teddy wheels - painted black with LED's for eyes (not my idea, but a cracking one). Good luck on finding some R8's! I think a lad on Scirocco Register had a bit of fun fitting BMW BBS's - different longer bolts and had to run spacers to clear the calipers? Not sure about that though. As already said, if you can find clear (or smoked) front indicators you are looking at £80-100 at least. The MTS group buy has effectively finished, and I think the organiser of that found it hard to get hold of those.
