Well I have some exciting news. The car will be making its first public appearance on the Rover SD1 Club stand at the NEC Classic and Restoration Show end of this month. Car won’t be finished by then, but all glass will be in, most of interior and the engine and box mounted. See you there then

You'll really hack the neighbours off retuning them now... I did with a pair of Class 37 horns. They are a tad loud though... Had to google Class 37. Awesome!!! Yes.... I had a slow pass from a local area car, luckily after I'd finished. Kept cats out of the garden for a few weeks as well!

I’ve had a long few days working on the car ready for the nec show tomorrow. I’ve made lots of progress. Engine and gearbox are in, all glass is now in, and some of the seats so it at least looks complete.
I found one really annoying problem though. I tried to bleed the brakes but found one of my newly rebuild calipers has a problem. One side of it won’t allow fluid through it. Bothe lines to the caliper are fine, but there is something obstruction fluid getting across to the far side of the caliper. So I’ll have to take it off after the show and send it back to Bigg Red.

Yes look forward to it. It’s been a long day. Got up early to collect the transporter. I’ve hired it as I thought it would protect the car better than my rather small trailer. Also less faffing than a trailer and has a large electric winch. So loading was easy. Shame it is disgustingly filthy inside. I resorted to sitting on a towel and wearing gloves as the seat, steering wheel and gear lever are covered in grime. Most unpleasant. Still it runs ok and got me to the show on time. Car now on the stand. Some photos.

I'm so bummed I'm from The Netherlands right now... I see all these great shows organised in the UK! Would have loved to meet people form here and their great projects. Unfortunately the crossing makes it a little cost prohibitive. RR gathering is also out this year due to vacation planning.
Car looks awesome!

For a minute I thought it might be the same one but it must just be a recurring theme with these, I had the same issue with one I hired to get a car from Scotland... was disgusting! Looking forward to seeing the car at the show, another build I've followed for a long time so will be nice to see it in person.

looks great . can't wait to see the finished product , well done . A chap came up to me at the show today and we were chatting about police cars. He has an ex Durham police victor. Think he is a member of the police car uk club. Thanks again for the aerials. Had them fitted today.
