	hello. my name's justin and i'm a retro car addict. i've been clean for a couple of years now but hope to change that soon. ... been lurking round these 'ere parts for a while now so thought I should join up and say hello! i'm a big retro fan and will definately be on here more frequently now that retro car magazine is no more, as that was my main fix of awesome cars previously! loving the ebay cars thread btw, hours of entertainment and temptation lol. I don't currently own anything overly retro (been driving fd rx7s as my dailies for the past 2 years - but on a big saving mission now so just had engine rebuild and getting ready to sell up)... I am looking into my next car now though and it will probably be a golf gti mk1 or something similiar - when I see the right car I will know it! [edit: another thing... a couple (maybe a few?) months ago there was an orange and white kadett for sale on here. does anyone know where it went to, or point me in the direction of the pics and info on it's build spec please?]

	retro or not, any rx7 as a daily is awesome ;D and as far as non retro cars go the fd is probably one of the most forgivable

	Welcome to the board Juz! I am a realtive newbie on here too. What about building something with your RX-7s rotary engine? One of my customers is building a Beetle with a Rotary engine (There is a pic in my ebay shop on the 'Car builder solutions page') I think these engines are very under-rated and overlooked. Surely their good power to weight ratio/small physical size makes it a good choice?

	thanks! yes that is indeed the kadett i was thinking off. i just love it! i see from the end of that thread that he did sell it to someone else though i love rotary engines and will one day come back to fd's when i have substantially more money the insurance and humongous petrol bills were one thing which i have put up with for 2 years, but the cost of maintaining the thing has thoroughly bled me dry! just spent £3500 on an engine rebuild so would rather sell the car in the great condition it is now to try and recover as much of my investment as possible, if i kept the engine for other projects i wouldn't actually save any money on running costs / maintenance and the rolling shell wouldn't be worth curse word. :/ she's going in for mot tomorrow and then just another few weeks of running the engine in then i will start to advertise. i'm widening my retro search now too; have been unable to find a nice reasonably priced mk1 gti so am also looking at dolomite sprints!
