I'll be doing a list of things on the mini
Including....
Fit new wheel bearing at the front.
Wire in a new "accessory" loom to power the stereo and fag lighter for the sat nav, as well as any other goodies I fancy popping on it..
Fitting group 2 wide arches to said car.
Cleaning fiesta calipers (cheers for them Sammyboy) for mini disc brake conversion.
Starting work again on the brown van.
*possibly* driving to Alton Towers area to get some more bits for the bus.... but I may leave that for another weekend.

Busy boy! ;D Do you ever get everything done that you planned to? I never do! Hope it all goes well for you anyway. I got a massive bulk of work done on the van really quickly, then my health let me down, so I took a break. Getting back into things again now... slowly

I'm going to pull my third (and hopefully final) plenum from the mould today, i really hope its worked this time!
If it has then i will be putting a second layer of carbon on the inside, reinforcing the flange area, and then drilling eleventybillion 4mm holes for the stainless allen retaining screws.
The inlet manifold should also be finished by the end of the weekend, and that means final wiring and bits and bobs, then ......... start up! UH OH!

At work till 4 When I get in I'm gunna move my pannels out of the garage and into the shed to stop the parents winging. On Sunday I'm gunna finally get around to checking the thermostat and coolant system. Might even flush it out and refill it. If the carb and fuel pump I'm awaiting arrive today i'll fit them. Then I can start the re-furb of my original carb. ;D

Not going to get anything done at all Beautiful weather today but I'm stuck inside working, no doubt it will be lashing it down tomorrow and she'll be wanting to be amused. I actually sense the Pop never making it right at the moment, I'd forgotten that jobs take up all your time which is depressing.

Just about to go and pick up some paint. Prepping and hopefully painting some panels on a rover 220 if I can get a bit of heat into my garage to drive the moisture out. Fit a radiator and replace a wheel stud to the same. Might be going to have a look at a Senator at some point and see if it has the engine I am wanting for the monza. Then if the panels are painted I will be refitting them to the Rover and getting it ready to sell. Pretty un-retro weekend

curse of posting that you'll get stuff done, woke up today feeling awful Took the old arches off the mini and started to cut the new ones. Realised I've left a load of tools at work, including the ball joint splitter, the hub puller and the rivet gun.... That'll be an archless mini for a few days then And the wheel bearing is gonna wait too..., early brakes mean I need some bits which I just don't have here... I'll clean the car later... lol, it'll get done Monday by my dad while I'm at home recovering from op number 2 Ah well, at least the revolutions look farking awesome and it still goes nice Oh, better add, gonna do the wires that I threatened to do as well.... nice easy job

I've just gone out there and made some holes in the car, only to realise I'm low on rivets, so can't actually fit the arches (the only rivets I have are too short!) but, it's gonna look cool with the arches on gonna pop into hellfrauds tomorrow morn after Sarah kicks me out of bed and purchase the ones I require, then the fitting of the arches will commence.

Nice one grizz. Plans for filling space? TTIUWP I'm pleased. I got 1/2 hour outside under the car and tried a couple of things. Amazing what you can fit into such a small time frame if you don't have any time to do it. Jacked up the engine and the mounts are fine, they are just very soft rubber but they haven't failed at all. Got under the car with it in gear and rolled it back and forth and there's less play in the drivetrain than my Anglia which can only be a good thing. The front bearing is a little slack and noisy but it sounds dry and there's a nice grease nipple on it so I reckon a good few shots of gloop should quieten it. Can't for the life of me work out how it comes off so probably just as well. Fired up the engine again and drove it about the carpark. Feathering the clutch it is fine and it's only when the car starts to move that it starts to shudder. I'm sure it's not as bad as it was before either so it might well be curse word on the flywheel causing it. Engine died quickly and wouldn't start again so I hoiked off the fuel line and there wasn't anything coming down the pipe. Again I see this is a good thing because is means all I have to do is replace the pipe, stick in a filter and job is fixed. Future looks bright for once. All good because I won't get to play with it until next weekend now.

Grouting the bathroom floor,... wishing I had enough money to do stuff to the Datto,.. Oh well,.. not going to bankrupt myself this time, so it'll all jsut have to wait My floor looks ace ... And I'm back into smoothing the engine bay of the datto as an idea,.. just working out where to start... Nightmares! That looks ace... My dad will be needing to spray my old VW camper at some point, will it be possible to call upon the use of your space and maybe expertise at that point?
