Here we go again.....
It's time for the Milano MC Show and since all the Italian manufacturer left the INTERMOT show in Germany 2 years ago to do their own thing EICMA has been the Hottest show with the most amazing news just like this year.....
MV Agusta:
The “Queen” of the show will be the MV Agusta F4 CC – a unique project to which the Managing Director of MV Agusta, Claudio Castiglioni, has put his name on.
This is a motorbike that Claudio Castiglioni dreamed of and designed for himself and that encompasses all MV Agusta’s experience. Although the engine derives from the F4, it is not an evolved form but a completely new concept. The four cylinder, 1.078cc, 198 CV engine has open titanium exhaust pipes that meet Euro 3 specifications and the number of new components in the engine is quite remarkable. The upper part of the block has been radically changed to accommodate the new oil-cooled generator. There are new connecting rods and the pistons have been lightened and shortened. The block too is lower and the head houses titanium valves.
Top speed is auto-limited to 315 kph (195 mph) by tyre specifications. Only 100 models of the handbuilt MV F4 CC will be made and the price will be in the region of 100,000 euros (!!!!!). The bike will come with superb accessories including a Trussardi leather jacket and a Girard Perregaux watch made exclusively for the 100 proud new owners of an F4 CC...
Well I like!!
Ducati:
The 1098 is the next Ducati Superbike now that the capacity has been raised to 1200cc. The new red body is very similar to the classic Ducati 916, one of the most beautiful bikes in the world.
The engine is entrapped in the classic Ducati frame and has a base power of 160cv. The bike has a low air opening and a single arm rear suspension. The exhausts are under the saddle and are now oval. The black mirrors perfectly include the direction indicators.
The race replica of the bike used this year by Capirossi and Gibernau (at a price of 55,000 Euro) is virtually the same as the bike presented at Mugello: a tube frame, a 1000cc four cylinder V engine producing almost 200 HP, a pressurised front fork. Contrary to photographs from last year that looked like a common 999, this bike is nothing like anything ordinary.
Hmmm verry 916 but unbelivable beautyfull...
And later today (inside info) Aprilia will release:
The Aprilia V4 Race Machine (the first 4-cylinder from Aprilia) is ready to create a new reference point for Superbike engines. With a tight, 4-cylindrical architecture, premiere technology, and extreme compactness, the future of the Superbike is in this propulsor that is capable of over 210 CVs of power. The project was developed completely within Aprilia R&D department with the intent of quickly adding the Superbike World Championship to the list of categories in which Aprilia has already conquered 32 international titles (six in this season alone).
This motor will land in this bike, ohhhh how I want one of those.....
Another cool one from Aprilia is the 850cc V-Twin scooter motor in a semi-nude bike with some cool features.....
The first important innovation is the NA 850 Mana. Never has there been such an innovative and technologically revolutionary Aprilia. An advanced system for electronic controlling of the transmission allows for a relaxed ride with the utmost amount of fun and efficiency. The Aprilia 850 Mana is a motorcycle without competitors in the international market, capable of delivering results under any types of use. A simple touch of the button on the handlebar of the Aprilia 850 Mana and you enter into a completely different world. Three separate mappings for the totally automatic transmission and a sequential shift with 7 gears make it easy to find the best-adapted configuration for the traffic and riding conditions of the Aprilia 850 Mana.
THE HORSEPOWER WAR IS ON!!!!!!
DP says: I guess the Big 4 (Japanese) wish they had waited with their 2007 (now) semi sportsbikes.....
