Have a browse through this little lot. Some old guy finds his old car that he restored 30 years ago, a '54 Kaiser: Bodges start with a different door bottom shonkily welded on. I think: Bit of filler on the floor to fill the holes: Mmmm, neat job: Needs a new wheel arch inside: So bash a new one out of sheet: And some filler: WTF? Copper sheet beaten roughly into shape and rivetted on: Anyway read the whole story here: oldcarandtruckpictures.com/EricGordonsKaiserConvertible/index-a.html It's a lot to load but I swear you won't believe your eyes. I would never post work like that on the internet if it was that bad

Fook, 'i used copper and rivets for my repairs as its easier to work, and stronger than the tin foil i used elsewhere'
thats never going to be legal!

;D whats worrying about this is the quote next to it Makes you feel sorry for the poor pilots whose planes he repaired. "Yer, I noticed the wing was hanging off but I riveted a pice of copper on top and then covered it all with bondo that should hold it"

A farm jack lifting the car from the front bumper Rather scarily, thats how some of the yank manufactureres recommended you jack them ,some came with that type of jack.

Is there actually any point in painting filler with rust preventative?

Top marks for finding this Johnny its absolutely hilarious! The fact that its an old guy whos restored it before, you think he`s gonna be a real stickler and then you see his work! Is it a wind up? "Hi, I'm Johnny Knoxville, and this is crazy old guy restores a car with the wrappers from his packed lunch"

The fact that its an old guy whos restored it before, you think he`s gonna be a real stickler and then you see his work! thats why i had to ask. thought maybe he'd done it once, got rid of it, then found it like this, and was going to start restoring it again. obviously i was wrong.

guess he lives in a state where they don't have an annual inspection (in an MOT style) so it will pass OK. Bloo*y cretin though, and you really wouldnt want to have an accident in it, all just fold and pop off.

I know it sounds sick but I think its mint when older blokes lose the plot and start doing things like this under the impression that its real quality work, its just priceless. Shame though its a really handsome looking car and would have looked a bit ahead of its time when new.

And here, ladies and gentlemen, is why importing 'restored' cars from the USA is such an f'n BAD idea....
I think the Simpsons got it right - 'Do it the American (half-ar53d) way!'
