Huzzah! I finally managed to work the Bluetooth on the missus's computer and got all the photos off of my phone. All the way back on the 29th October, I braved the ferry and met up with Tigran and Dan1641 over in Poole: (There's another meet coming up soon) Me vs ferry: Meeting at Sandbanks - understandably one of the highest £/m² areas to live - very nice area, porsches are common as muck, so we brought up the tone: Tigran's Capri looked hard as nails: ...as did Dan's hoodride: Dan's mate in race prepped, clean as a whistle 205: ...just running in the engine Spots on the day: (apologies for dodgy camera - wheels were in fact round!) Nice meeting you guys, and roll on the next one!

Spotted from passenger side of the missus's car: -looked and sounded great! French surfer dudes hanging out in West Wight: This was simply superb - in incredibly good nick! and check out that interior Finally, from last trip oop norf:

The Maser is a Biturbo. Is that Stratos real or a replica?

This is interesting. The body is a 1500 FWD (so pre 76) but the plate is for a 77. Must have sat around for a while before being registered....... It's got later seats though (headrests) so does not have the standard interior....so maybe the powertrain is also not standard - hence the good noise ;D Could be a nicely tuned up lump under there! Stratos looks fapping ace but is probably a replica, as the panel gaps are quite accurate and straight. You're also not liable to fall through them ;D Great selection of pics

Tis probably a replica as the wheels are split rims made my Image Wheels, and supplied with most Stratos replica kits. Although, if it were real and he'd buckled a wheel getting hold of a new one could be a right pain in the bum!

Excellent anoraking there lewis - gold star. If I spot it again (it is a small island...) I'll try and get some more piccies. You're also not liable to fall through them ;D Great selection of pics I had a good look at the Stratos, and was hoping the driver would appear - we stopped off at a one of the services and had to drive on. However, as lewis has said, it looked superb, and very nicely finished outside but particularily on the inside- which leads me to believe it was a replica - looked better than the real thing! Thanks for nice comments! Matt

Ace pics! My parents went to the IOW recently to a little VW gathering with a club they are in (forget which now) and took loads of pics. My Dad said it's an excellent place for old car spotting!

Good to see another meet-up. Looks like our's is moving to Sunday so we can still see the cars. Amused that you saw this Laurel. Living up to my name I saw it twice last year when driving past Bournemouth/Poole area en route to West Dorset - once on the way down, and again on the way back a week later! On the move both times too.

cool pics nice to see the fasty in use mate, I presume you sorted that sh*te out with the bodyshop from way back when? Fasty is looking much better than it was, and MOT tester said there was nothing to worry about in terms of that side of the work. The paint, whilst looking good from a distance, has a few areas where it just looks awful - I considered going further but lost impetus - had the car back on the road, was enjoying it etc etc.. I've since heard from a garage owner nearby who is also into older cars that at least 8 seperate people are in the process of sueing for one reason or another - so I'd hope that he gets shut down as a result... Did all the brakes a month or so ago, now need to start on a full service and need to sort out some rustproofing underneath. Interior will happen eventually... Fancy swapping your 411? Qwerty - that jag was luvverly, I reckon the blue workes well thought Spottedlaurel: I was suitably impresssed at the level of equipment on the car - are they all so high spec?

The Triumph could be a re-shell, as the shells were all inter-changeable. So the holes are there for either Front wheel drive old lady lumps - or shoving in the dolly sprint motor. - looks tidy and great 70's shade ;D ;D ;D GOD - I MISS MY SPRINT!!! She's back with the parents UK side.

nice spots! remember seeing lots of cool cars last time i was over there, including a really nice orange mk2 RS2000. think it was in Newport, or maybe Fishbourne? drove past it a couple of times much to the annoyance of everyone else in the car!

Mr_Bo11ox - you see the chrome wrap around the tail, that follows the edge of the boot? Only 1500 FWDs have that style rear chrome, that runs down to the bumper and stops. All other Dollies 'wraparound'. A photographic demonstration is in order ;D Like so Funny how earlier trim levels always seem to flatter the shape of the car, whereas the later, additional bits break it up and make it less attractive.

I've just learnt something new too - apparently the 1300's (the RWD ones) DID have that chrome trim!...seen some without it though, so I'm confused! Not quite qualified to wear that anorak jacket yet ;D I stuck it in the DVLA and it's registered as a 1300...so, there you have it! - you can get the Dolomite floorpan with that style rear trim. Really odd, never seen or noticed it before! Here's a 1300 in a similar style - although someone has tried to emulate the black backpanel. The HLs and Sprints are the ones that should have, by default - black coloured sills and rear panels but as so many have been through the resprays now, lots of 'em are all over the place Well well! Now I know what to buy if I want that style rear end ;D
