almost put this in the eBay thread, but... Burnham Autos have been building this for a customer who's now unable to finish it off. Looks like a megacool project and similar to a car I've built in my head a few times...

I saw that car in person at a show in chelsford 11 years ago!

If i remember right it was owned by a piercer at metal morphosis.

Hey - thats my car Many thanks to Alistairk for posting it up. I'm absolutley heartbroken I have to sell this car - I've already sold a very low mileage Chevy 305 TPI and 700R4, a set of 17x7 and 18x8 American Racing Torq Thrust II's (with 215/45 and 255/40's) - a dakota digital airride controller setup, a set of VDO guages, plus a bunch of other stuff..... I'm having to sell all this stuff to fund my wifes physio after a big knee op as whist the isurance covered the op, its didn;t stretch to all of the phsio (6-12 months worth!!) Like some of you guys this was a car I'd built in my head a number of times, so when I managed to get a really clean P5B the plan was hatched ........ "best laid plans...." etc etc Anyhow - as mentioned I've got something like £14k in this car already (not even THINKING about the money I lost on the engine and parts... <sob>). If this was going to someone who was going to complete the project I'd be *happy* (interesting use of the word happy) to let it go for about £5k. any takers??? please?? grant *at* thefullers.co.uk if interested. ta muchly....

*shudder*
Why lumber the old girl with an underpowered, overweight boat anchor when it was already blessed with one of the finest V8s ever made?

*shudder* Why lumber the old girl with an underpowered, overweight boat anchor when it was already blessed with one of the finest V8s ever made? Ford 302 + alloy heads + EFI. 500bhp for less than it costs to get the Rover to 350... I'm not a fan of the Rover V8... Yes, it is light...but it loses out on capacity, character and power. Big style. *n

*shudder* Why lumber the old girl with an underpowered, overweight boat anchor when it was already blessed with one of the finest V8s ever made? I assume you've never driven, owned or even in fact been in an early Buick engined Rover (P5/P6) ? But then again you list the Hongdou GY200 in your vehicles, so I suppose I should take your opinion with a large pinch of salt? As it happens I've build both Rover V8's and Chevy/Ford V8's for projects - in all cases the Yank metal was cheaper, more powerful, larger capacity, eaqsier to get parts for..... etc etc. The engine I had lined up for this car was a 7k miles fuel injected SBC from a '91 Camaro Z28. Coupled with a 700R4 4speed autobox. £2k including all the wiring loom and geabox. The last Rover I built (a 4.6lt, torquer cammed unit) cost in excess of £4k excluding the gearbox. Also it simply does not look as good as a polished TPI plenumed SBC Not a huge fan of the Rover - good for certain things (like Hybrid Landies) but bang for buck you are nearly always better off with a Chevy/Ford unit.
