Just filling out another form. So that the constabulary can relieve me of another £60 in exchange for 3 more lovely penalty points. What a complete bunch of . Funny, isn't it that driving at 63 mph on a dual carriageway under 'perfect conditions' is a crime I need to be punished for. Maybe I should go out, get bezzed up and tailgate through the rain with no insurance. As long as I'm withing the 'limit', then that's perfectly fine. Man, those camera vans suck hippo penis.

63mph...?
Thought there was a 10% discrepancy?
I also thought that the national speed limit was 70mph on a dual carriage way?

I like long walks, especially when they're taken by people I don't like.

My dad got done for doing 82mph on an empty motorway at 6:00am on a Sunday. A couple of weeks ago a Ford Focus overtook us doing about 70 when the whole motorway was doing 50, proceeded to pull onto the hard shoulder to get past 2 lorries overtaking and then carried on swerving across all 3 lanes nearly causing several accidents. My dad called the police and to report him and they said there was nothing they could do as there wasn't a car in the area and we didn't get his whole number plate! Justice my .

This bit is 50. F*ck knows why really....
Was passing a line of HGV's so didn't spot the van until it was too late. Oh and I thought that they were supposed to be 'conspicuously marked'??
Because parked under a tree, with the back doors open so you can't see the big dayglo bits its cheating a bit....

Double check this - but I believe they also have to display a speed camera sign before the actual van...

I don't keep up with it anymore, but the ACPO guidelines were 1 tenth plus 1mph and vans are 'supposed' to be visible. Also, were there no clear speed limit markings/signs ? Most dual carriageways are national speed limit ... the definition of dual carriageway depends on the road itself. Four lanes (2 each way) seperated by nothing more than two white lines is not classed as a dual carriageway and as a result is 60mph. To be a dual carriageway, it needs to have a strip of land or central reservation between the two sets of lanes, in which case the limit is 70mph unless otherwise posted.

I had to correct the wife on this fact the other day when she told me off for doing 70mph on a dual carriage way - she thought the only place you could do 70mph on was a motorway...silly bint

What a load of balls, its only a matter of time till i get mine, and till everyone who isn't a saint gets em too! Its true, we keep watching thos police camera programmes, often the little scroats in with no tax, mot insurance, bald tyres, sometimes not their car; get away with it! madness Like i said this morn, if you are safe, keep your attention on the road your doing better than a majority of road users. Only today radio news revealed that the UK is the most 'watched'!

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

That truly sucks . I thought there was a 10% discrepency on speed cameras too, to allow for speedo inaccuracy. Dunno what the hard facts are though. You could always ask to see a calibration certificate for that equipment. If it wasn't calibrated that morning, apparently it won't stand up in court. Again, check the facts on this though. And it would mean you going to court... It'd cost the f*ckers more than £60 though ;D
