right, since iv just purchase another car, the golf has to go. what do you reckon its worth? 1990 1.6 driver 123k on the clock weber carb bbs wheels 40mm lower badgeless grille clear side repeaters/front indicators mots due november sometime but if it goes for enough ill put it through one tax is around april sometime. cant remember at the moment cd player new exhaust a few months ago. standard replacement tyres all ok bad points few general dings. nothing too bad, ones broke the paint and started to rust a tiny bit, no rust anywhere else as far as i can see i think the carb needs setting up right since theres a flat spot on the accelerator and i get a bit of a whiff of petrol when accelerating hard from stanstill.

i was thinking of selling them seperately. they're not exactly mint though, the laquers coming off i think. look shiny when clean though
i think they're the ones that come with the g60. that sound about right? I'm no expert on wheels

£400 with a fresh ticket on it? I agree to split the wheels from the car. Don't they are splitrims though, but prolly worth a one-er at least

Get some better quality up close pictures of the wheels.
They do look rather like BBS RM's to me which were standard fitment on the g60

Remove the BBS rims and sell seperately. Try to get the car as close to original spec as possible too.

so what would be a sensible price for the wheels? i just want a quickish sale to gather back my spending on the mazda.
and the golf will be on the tread limit with the other wheels and tyres on

I would say £250-£300 for the wheels and Probably £300 for the car with the rest of the mods. Partworn tyres can be had for £15 a tyre so just bung some of them on which is what i'm doing with the suxo LOL

I would have thought the car would get £400 on a set of presentable steelies if the MOT is 8 months +, then whatever you get for the wheels.

iv just seen a golf driver in the paper for 750 quid! thats how much I'm paying for the rx7! how do people get that much for them? then again it was a year newer and had 20k less miles than mine.
hopefully if i can get the golf sold for 3-400 and the wheels sold for 200 ill make most of the money back I'm paying for the mazda. and i thought buying the mazda would make me very poor till next payday! things are looking up!

well yeah. i always try to imagine selling things cheap so i don't plan on having more money than i actually end up with. ill probably but the wheels on ebay with a BIN of around 300 ish. that sound reasonable?
i didnt imagine selling the golf cheap cos its got HUGE sentimental value to me. it was my first car and the reason i learnt to drive in the first place. although ill sell it cheap to someone if i think they're going to take good care of it

Start the Golf off at £500 without the wheels and don't take a big chip they have a good following outside the retro circles, a Golf on a G-plate is perceived by the motoring masses to be worth about the same as an Escort on a M or N, at least thats in my experience.

Also put it up on some vw forums such as ed38 then least there's a bigger chance that an enthusiast will buy it and look after it.
