Here is my latest addition to the fleet, 1988 Transit with fully armoured cab and rear vault. Been in storage since 1996, has been used in film and TV work, the most recent being the Guardian newspaper's 'Three Little Pigs' tv advert. Runs a standard 2.5Di engine, 5sp MT75 gearbox, has composite armour on cab floor and footwells, laminated armoured glass in the screen, fully armoured doors, and a fully lined vault in the back. The ridiculous bullbars and windscreen grilles were added for the telly ad, as were the police logos. 45000 miles from new, only two previous owners, runs like a dream. ![](http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w86/eugene_speed/Photo0231.jpg) ![](http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w86/eugene_speed/Photo0232.jpg) ![](http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w86/eugene_speed/Photo0218.jpg) ![](http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w86/eugene_speed/Photo0221.jpg) ![](http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w86/eugene_speed/KGrHqJjE6IdOehm6BOvSTpn8Bw60_3.jpg) ![](http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w86/eugene_speed/KGrHqZhoE6mHKkCBOvSTeucgw60_3.jpg)

That's awesome!! Where do you find stuff like that?!? It's been on ebay at least 3 times! Funnily enough, I didn't buy it on ebay, I have been after this particular wagon for a couple of years now so it really found me. The first time it was on ebay, NineNine Cars had dragged it out from the back of their warehouse, they had been holding it since 2005 when it was used in some film work. They sold it to Dream Cars in November 2011, who dressed it up for the Guardian ad. They then put it back on ebay, but puilled the listing as there was a possibility that another ad had to be filmed and the van would be needed again. When the second ad didn't materialise, it was put back on ebay as a classified, by which time one of the chaps over on the Transit forums had given them my details. A phone call later and the deal was sealed! Quite hard to come by now as most cash-in-transit vans were cut up or crushed at the end of their service life so villains couldn't get their hands on them to work out how to get into them! Already looking at some further film and tv work, and hopefully getting to a couple of shows this year.

I like it, could you tell me what is over the front and rear lights?
I see its a mesh of some kind but other than that I can't make it out.

Bet you could but a notice on the van - "Tools kept in here overnight" Cool and as you say they were all cut up to prevent secrets getting out.

sorry but i don't get it if you have a use for it thats fine,eg more films etc,but to use it everyday its got to be a no no.you cant use it like a transit as you have restricted access with only one door at the back, mpg wont be good with all that extra weight.iam sure that you cant drive it on the road anyway those police signs on it and those bull bars. and as for insurance.......

Surely if you apply that logic to ownership of a vehicle, 90% of all the cars on this site would be irrelevant. Most are old, not very efficient in modern terms, cost more time and money than they are really worth, need constant attention and fiddling, etc. It's not about making sense, if I wanted to do that I would post pictures of my Nissan Micra. I have my reasons for wanting such a van as this, and if you don't get it then thats cool, not everyone will. The bullbars, grilles and graphics can be removed at any time, leaving me with a fairly clean and tidy van that drives rather well and isn't quite the lumbering beast that you assume it to be. But I like the unusual, hence the reason I have owned so many unique cars over the years. Not many of them made any sense whatsoever but they always, always put a smile on my face. And that, my friend, is what is really important. ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png)

OMEGA,
If you need to ask then you wont understand the answer and you are probably on the wrong forum.
We do it because we can......
I'd roll that as a part time daily why not??
