Last one went down pretty well and we had some good suggestions. So what could we do to a.... Yugo 513! AKA Zastava 101 Sexeh! Remember that we should try keep these within the bounds of reality. Ie a Jag V12 and R33 Skyline running gear is out, simply as thats just not going to fit... bonus marks for Photochops. Before anyone asks, yes its FWD and I belive the PCD is 4x98mm The more detail you want to give, the better! I want to see the workings of your deranged minds on this one. And yes, theres a fair amount of Fiat in this car (just uglier)

Hmm don't know anything about these vehicles. I'd start with the earlier version. They look pretty smallish though. Soooo... with them being Fiat based I would say Uno/Puno turbo engine or if it'll fit a fiat twnk, smooth off the side repeaters and indicators posibly by using later version wings. Lower it lots and fit a set of these wheels: Interior loooks a bit dreary so I would say Lowback buckets with headrests up front and low back buckets in the back. Wood rimmed steering wheel. A couple of subtle extra guages. Subtle stereo system, but with the cabin soundproofed. Jobs a gud un!

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

That 128 there has the original, nicer looking Fiat rear enfd on it rather than the weird Yugo/Zastava hatchback rear end. Entertainingly I think I discovered that there was a 3 door version, but only for Serbia.
My thoughts...
OK, first off those rubbing strips have to go. Quickly followed by the bumpers. I’d fit the early spec / Fiat grill with the single round headlights and if I couldn’t locate the parts to do that I’d improvise with some (Rover) Mini headlights and extruded ali mesh. Then I’d whack some of the ride height. About half of it will do I think. If it still has wheel arches I’ll flare them slightly, maybe adapt some Mini Sportpack arches or something.
I can’t decide on the colour. I like the idea of deep glossy black with a JPS inspired stripe job, with Hammer & Sickle logos in place of the JPS ones. On the other hand I reckon it would look pretty sweet in Fiat Dry Turquoise, a colour popular on the new generation Panda. In which case I’d be wondering if the “Gulf look” was done to death yet as it would suit it, with a twist, or maybe just some offset white rally stripes over the top and roundels?
Wheels would be wide 13s, some Chromodora 4 spokes if possible and if not I’d get me some 13” Rostyles off something and get them re-rimmed or banded or something. Lowest profile rubber going would be needed.
Inside it would need to be black vinyl, some sporty bucket seats ripped out of some hot hatch in the breakers retrimmed in black vinyl with cloth inserts to match the rest of it. Mountney button sized steering wheel and a bunch of extra dials in a pod on top of the dash. For best effect the dials would all be different makes and styles, snagged from autojumbles. I’d Vinylcote the headliner black as well, but that’s just me. I’d drill the pedals too.
Power? As much as possible please. These things, even if they aren’t rusted to death, are going to be really light. I reckon if a VAG 1.8T will go in a Trabby then it will go in a Yugo, and that would be my first choice of power plant. The VAG trans would be needed and just chop down the VAG driveshafts, respline to work with the Yugo CV joints or is that asking for trouble? Some kind of a brake upgrade would probably be a good idea too.

I'll take the red one and spaz it to the max with as many cheap and tacky 80's/90's bolt-ons as possible - rear window louvres, sunstrips, whip ariels, stainless mudflaps, cheapo spots and fogs, etc, Colway rally remoulds on a set of 13" Compo's, etc. All rounded off with sorted (but not lowered) suspension, uprated brakes and a well breathed on HPE Volumex or Integrale lump... Being picky and slightly arseholey but the engine in the Trabbi is a smaller, probably 1.6 litre 16 valve as bestowed on Polos, Boras, Golfs and similar. It has it's origins in the dim and distant past in the small block sub 1 litre engines from the Audi 50. The 1.8T has (again in the dim and distant past) origins in the big block 1500 from the Mk1 Passat/Audi 80 (I think I've got their first homes right)
