Never rains but it pours... Tomorrow I have to take both the SprogDiesel wagon AND the Slumber Septic in for the dreaded annual health check.... So which will have the most miserable fail sheet? And which will incur the biggest bill?? This evenings tasks will be bodging up the exhaust on the sceptre, and trying to re-connect the numberplate light. All of which will propbably have to be done in the p1ssing rain and pitch black no doubt. Fingers crossed!

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

I think if you're taking them both to SGMC they'll both pass

Hope they make it through OK but if they don't you can be sure that the Septic will have the biggest failure sheet but the one niggly thing that's wrong with the Sprogdiesel will cost you lots more.

Saxon Gate be thee. The place might be a shitehole but they have the best tyre prices around and can pretty much fit you in when ever.

Never even thought of using SaxonGate tbh.
The bimmer used to go to the BMW specialists in Hitchin, till one time someone (staff? customer? traveller?) nicked a load of bits off it... to which the management denied all knowledge. The OH's stuff always went to Charlie's on 'family' rates, but it's just such a ball-ache going over there, and he doesn't always fix things in the way I'd want them fixed....

SG are really cheap for tyres and exhausts. Chap can be a little blunt at times but, I guarantee that his prices will be cheaper than say County Tyres.
Ah yes, Charlie's... I could never fault him. He used to keep me updated on work and problems and 'short cuts' should they be required. Seriously doubt that the MB would get over that speed bump without loosing its sump, exhaust, shaft and diff lol

I reckon the Fungus will sail through, and the Septic will get a few minor things. Maybe a patch or two... But I've never seen either of these beasts in the metal so it's pure guesswork! Best of British luck with them both Pog

septic shouldn't need any patching that i can see.... apart from the exhaust! LOL! More likely that it will fail on some random and no-longer available mechanical bit. Worried by the Focus. I've checked most of the stuff and it seems OK. But I have heard alot of horror tales of Fords of this age failing on structural corrosion

I can see a plan developing that may result in only one "whole" car

Worried by the Focus. I've checked most of the stuff and it seems OK. But I have heard alot of horror tales of Fords of this age failing on structural corrosion I've heard that Kaks often suffer from rampant timworm & I've seen plenty of rusty late model Scrotes, but I wasn't expecting to hear that so soon about a design as new as a Fucwit Anyhow - fingers crossed for it costing just the test fee!

Yeah, I know the KAK's rust like curse word. Russell's ma has one with holey sills and bubbles everywhere. 'X'-reg. Slumber septic TDi? Now that would be interesting! Not gonna happen, OBV, but a good concept!

Structurally Kas go on the rear chassis legs and sills, never heard of a Focus suffering from anything of the sort they do seem really well made. Late model Escorts arent bad for structural either its just back arches and possibly a little patch on the sill.

Good, good. Everything else seems fine. Emmissions are a bit of a worry, owing to it being a smelly diesel needing a service....

I reckon you will have a dodgy indicator on the slumber and a knackered anti roll bar droplink (passenger front)on the focus with a caution on the worn inside edges of your front tyres.
