CWP swaps involve a lot of measuring and adjusting from what I've read in an article called "the magic and witchcraftery involved in building a quiet differential".
mr - you appear to have the optional extra self-rustproofing liquid dispensing system (TM) rather than the cheaper drain plug version?

that's the one,i believe it was standard on all 80's fords . when the engine was swapped my mate rob must have been near the dispenser nozzle cos when he climbed out the engine bay , he looked like a seagull on a beach after an oil spill.

Friday evening after gettting home from work was the start of the strip down of the rear end of the ole bus for the bodywork to get some attention. So the boot was stripped out and the rear seats along with the parcel shelf and C pillar trims for good measure Started off like this And ended up like this (not sure how noticeable a difference in height it really is!) Got to my friends workshop after work yesterday and removed the rear bumper end caps, think one has seen better days though and inside of it The rear screen still needs to come out to cut out and cure this And a bit more in here again And the main thing being both the ear wheel arches at last nearside rear offside rear And how the bus was left at the end of the day before the major surgery

When the rear screen is out you'll probably find that the metal the screen rubber sits on is rotted away too.....suprised bout the wheel well, thought that was only made a couple of years back.I've got a drain hole in mine just in case of leaks.never had a water issue in the boot luckily,is the boot rubber seal damaged or have the sunroof drain channels rotted right through into the boot area under the rear screen.

Has swollen the MDF parcel shelf as well as rotting out the spare well agian. Although the well is just the inner upright as the bottom and outer section was made from thicker metal than Ford used originally and is probably good enough to jack the back up on

I actually really like the way that looks without the bumper extensions wrapping around the sides. It accentuates the body lines of the car and cleans it up nicely.

Always thought the mk2 looks better at the rear without the massive bumper ends Something about it that makes it look a bit more banger racer ready

No pics on this update I'm afraid to report Should be some by the end of the week hopefully. Was at my friends workshop last night whilst he was doing some overtime on a time attack car, and I set to the nearside rear wheel arch well and spare wheel well with the angle grinder with a massive wire wheel attachment Safe to say that now both wheel wells are more or less devoid of 32 year old seam sealant and grubbiness Was also shown the new panels for the side portion of the spare wheel well and the new stainless rod that the towing eye will be made from

Was over at my friends workshop tonight, and he has been busy working on a 4.0l Wrangler with a turbo attached to it trying to get it to run properly I can confirm that it sounded pretty awesome Oh, and the spare wheel well is complete with massive towing eye and the nearside rear wheel arch is on mine

Looking good Thank you hamps Would love to have learnt to weld earlier on in life and be at least half as good as Dave is! Would save a pretty penny on repairs that way as well
