Totally awesome!
Cannot wait to see/hear this beast working. Can I ask a quick Q?
Are the engine mounts the items that retro sport supply for RWD zetec conversions? Or are they custom made, if so who, where etc etc etc fankoooo :DD

Or are they custom made, if so who, where etc etc etc fankoooo :DD They come as a Kit, Its known as a chassis mount engine kit and available from anywhere that does Escort rally parts... Be warned though, you will need a BFO welder to get any penetration on them, My poor 130a Mig on Full power barely tacked them up.... luckily the 3phase TIG plant took care of welding them up You get the chassis brackets, 2 bush housings, 2 bushes, 2 plates Which I didnt use, 2 Tubes its then a case of Cut grind and weld until they fit But don't try it at 10 pm on a Friday night, like i did..... you`ll get it wrong as I did

Accordingly, do you reckon that the chassis-mount kits for XEs would work with an XE/LET/Family II lump...? Are you running a larger pulley for 5psi until you're 'ready'? *n (can't wait to see this finished )

Top grammar tips! Bought = purchased. Brought = relocated Lose = misplace/opposite of win. Loose = your mum

It's a real shame when stuff works out so well eh? Looks so at home Should be entertaining getting it out for the first time in November too... Better do a sundance first, and hope for some form of traction. 200bhp? 800kgs? Yeeehah. Really enjoy seeing your problem solving process and how it works out.

Cheers Fella, You still want a feature when its done As for traction....... well thats where paying a little bit extra for the ECU comes into its own....and the LSD of course Latest version of the firmware has full Traction control, based on differential driven and undriven wheelspeed ;D So I can dial in the difference in front to rear wheelspeed I want... Should be ace for drifting

Do keep us updated pleeease.

And how would that work in conjunction with a manual LSD, which presumably has a fixed operating point and no adjustable variables when in motion? I'm just wondering if there was a way of having a different limit in each gear, for examples sake, meaning more spin at higher speeds to keep it more predictable? I think... If none of that makes sense. Just say... Oh, and of course I'd be interested in a feature... Just as quick as you can say Supercharged

superb, sterling work, dom! can't believe you put up with the 1160(odd)cc for so long . it sits sooooo nice in there, I guess thats where proper planning and measuring come in to play. this is one of 2 cars I can't wait to see finished at the mo, the other is my mates mr2 turbo powered clubman van. now get on with it !

If none of that makes sense. Just say... Oh, and of course I'd be interested in a feature... Just as quick as you can say Supercharged Yes basically I can dial in a percentage slip before the traction control cuts in so it will allow the rear wheels to rotate say 20% faster than the fronts, any more and it will cut power to maintain that percentage. This is also adjustable Via a Pot on the dash if needs be for greater or lesser percentage The LSD in the piazza axle has a pretty aggressive ramp angle so allows very little slip across the axle anyway It will need some setting up but thats part of the fun It can vary slip in different gears but needs a gear position sensor to do so, which is easy on a sequential box but needs some thinking about on a conventional gate Micro switches on each gear position is probably the easiest/cheapest method Ed, the 1198 was ok..... just had to learn to never back off for anything ;D Its like riding a 125cc bike..... momentum is everything ;D
