Front drive prefered, becuse this will stop me wanting to fit an S2 engine, (i just want a car not project - 944 is for that.) Love the sound, the drive, the build.....but I think I'm going to develop it further or buy another as well. I'm thinking about a 10v Turbo engine in this and adding 4x4 later or buying an S2. If this comes off the road its going to be ....well sorted ;D Sumpcracker I love your threads. This looks exceptionally clean now! I have a soft spot for the Coupe's and I'm looking forward to seeing you work your magic on this one.

I noticed the mind swaying also, it seems I just cant stop myself, it always turns into the bigger project.
Thanks btw..
Problem is i do a bit here and a bit there to improve a car, but then i may as well just have bought the next model up (see 944) may as well just have bought a sorted turbo. So what about this? i may end up improving it for 2 yrs and end up with an S2 - could have saved effort and bought one. This is why i try to fight the urge...
The best thing to do would be to fit a modern TDI lump, but then i lose the sound which made me buy it...arggggggghhhh! I realy do wish i wasnt so anal.

I believe they're related to the Audi 5 pots* and sound pretty awesome for a Diesel. 163hp standard. Remap and front mount should see more.......45mpg and will be fairly swift. Do it! *Quick Google says this may be a load of balls!

I've being toying with the idea of a 1.8 20v turbo out of a passat or a4, purely because you can pick them up for less than a grand. Up to 350bhp on standard internals apparently... more research first though.

Engine management might be a pain though?

Nothing changed, I put MOT and tax on it and then parked it in my gararge wondering what to do with it.
