Didnt i start a thread like this six months ago? I seem to go through this phase a couple of times a year anyway but i'm seriously considering it again. I need to free up some space and get some cash together as i'm thinking about buying a cheap recovery. Since i motd it a few months ago i've only used it a handfull of times and its a shame to see it sitting going to waste. The trouble is its a bit of one horse motor really, its uncmfortable to drive because of the suspension, the paintwork is not exactly a strong selling point and if i want to get anywhere near what i'd like for it i'd have to spend some time and money prettying it up. On the plus side its got nearly a years ticket on it, its tax exempt and the underneath is imaculate, the only rust is in sills wings and valences and it'd be a brilliant base for a nice v8 conversion or zetec or whatever. I don't knw why i'm posting this really, i guess i'm just trying to test the water but would anyone on here buy it and how much do you guys think i should ask for it. My judgement is a bit clouded because i've owned it for so long and its almost a part of me so its hard for me to put a price on it but i cant see me really getting around to doing anything more to it as i keep having new ideas for all my other cars and its getting pushed further toward the back of the queue.

Yes. Sell it. Because if you don't, the next thread will be 'should I sell the Escort'. Which will displease both my bank manager and my missus.

Yes. Sell it. Because if you don't, the next thread will be 'should I sell the Escort'. Which will displease both my bank manager and my missus. But to sell the escort i have to finish it, that should give you a bit of breathing space, but i think the escort has become the new cortina. In that case it wont be going anywhere for a while.... Maybe. Sell everything and buy a new car on credit!* *or don't. And they'll give me thousand pounds for my old car. That means if i p/x all five in i can fulfill my lifelong dream of driving around in a 51 plate vectra and it wont cost me a penny ;D ;D ;D

can you wait to sell the cortina until spring? ebay is full of mk3's at the moment, and even though prices are reasonably high - the paint work will affect the price dramatically in march / april / may - prices will (as usual) rocket as the summer drivers buy in to classic motoring
just my opinion

Hey, I could trade Mrs JS's 51 plate Vectra for your Cortina. (Although it'd cost me half my house as well, no doubt. ;D) I'd love the Cortina, but no time / money at present. I thought mk3s were worth a damn fortune? Certainly I've only ever found one nice one I could afford, and someone else got it first!

do ya wanna swap the mk3 for the cressida 8-)i could give the mk3 a realy good home ;D You are a very bad man ;D ;D ;D You know i lust after that vehicle, and even though it wont free up any money or space for me i am very tempted indeed. Do you think the missus will let it go though? I would love to have your 'Tina ;D One of my dream cars that I would happily own. Just out of interest (I'm plums deep in a 200t and large engine right now so it kind of counts me out... for now) how much would you want for it? Well i paid a grand for it 6 years ago and if i could that back i'd be well chuffed. Like i said its tax exempt, its sailed through every mot since i've had it, the back ends poly bushed and i've got the front bushes, just havent got round to fitting them yet. And for a few quid extra i can throw in a two litre and 5 speed box and all the bits to convert it. What is this Minor you speak off? Its a rotten money pit that i bought a few years back because it looked shiney on the outside and seemed like a good idea at the time. Its now in the process of being broken because the floorpan is too far gone to do anything with other than cut out and spaceframe and i'm sick of it taking up too much room in my workshop.
