^^^light looks happy Note - latex gloves are cheap, but might end up giving you Exzcema (common problem for surgeons). Better to buy the more expensive Nitrile powder free gloves - also more resistant to tearing & solvents.

Thanks @blackpop usually I go for the black nitrite ones because they're hard wearing plus they make me look cool! I've also been given some moisturiser from Mrs Jim that's great for working hands - I'll post it up later as it's good to know.

Yeah DOT 3 4 and 5.1 are a solvent based fluid. Hence the paint damage, where as DOT 5 is silicone based.
Ive also got a friend who works at an oil refinery and he recommended these Ansell 92-600 Touchntuff gloves. They have been amazing. A pair can last nearly as long as month! The can resist nearly all petrol chemicals! I think the boxful will outlast me.
Bet that was satisfying to install those real lights. Theyve always looked mega

I hope everyone is well and keeping safe in these strange, I have been working at home and doing jobs on the Cortina. With spending so much time at home on the computer I've been spending less time on the web. My wife's still at working at the hospital so our evenings have generally been spent in the garden to get away from the outside world. I have removed the loom I was getting some weird results and without being able to fix it in situ without damaging anything I've pulled it out to get it sorted on the bench. An example of this is your brake lights shouldn't turn your dash lights on - don't ask i can't explain it! I had a meeting worksop i borrowed our printer and printed off a colourised loom i made o paint in A1 The egg is for scale I had started to give nickel plating a go and made my own nickel electrolyte- it did a great job of the original key. I'm waiting on loom bits for rerouting wires and replacing the rear bulbs because they do work but they're so worn the contacts have worn! So I'm looking at sorting the gearbox out. Its an original 1500/GT box with the less than ideal ratios, its missing a few bits like the 3 springs that keep the selector rods locked in place and the plate that goes under the selector Bush If anyone can help me out with photos and dimensions or has a spare please get in touch. I'm also missing the clutch lever assembly if anyone has a spare please message me. I'm not using these ratios as I have a 2000e/ mk1 lotus set to go in - it looks dirty but it is in a good condition looking at it as it is. Anyway stay safe and keep washing your hands.

Jim As soon as you get to it measure the dia of the 1500 gears as I'm almost certain that the 2000E gear are larger in dia and may not fit in your 1500 case it may be changing the whole box is the only way someone like kenb who I know has experience in this sort of gearbox work on Anglia's can advise you better?

Yes Ken and I know you have a lot of practical experience with the gearbox swaps as well, that you have not written down.

I was going to add these last night but got distracted, I firstly did some.digging in my 64 parts book and my 66 one and found that the only part number for the case is 7006 - not ideal given the lotus box has different ratios and different diameters for 1st on the layshaft. I checked the cases which got a bit stranger, the case the 1500 gears came from doesnt carry any other numbers other than this 4H11 which after talking with Pete doesn't make sense. I think this is the case the 2000e ratios came with (I bought this box donkeys years ago). It has the 7006-D which must be based off the original 7006 case but is revised. It has a reverse switch mount so not from a mk1 cortina and has an extra Web on the side for strength. I have a 3rd case thats numbered 7006-C which looks the same as then 1500 case.

The gears will all fit in which ever casing you use. The only exception if the casing was from a 997 Anglia which I doubt any of them are.

The S1 1600e has the reverse switch there Jim, but it would have the remote on the back of the gearbox and not coming off the angled section.

Ford part numbers have a structure, the first part is the vehicle model, engine or gearbox family, the second part is the part descriptor so in this case all gearbox cases will carry 7006, the last part is the level, the first letter is the family, part type so A might be a switch with wash wipe, B without, C with a rear wiper etc., the second letter is the level so AB would mean an improved version of AA etc.
