Buick nailhead. Its rorty sound is a feature of its design flaws. I can just see the design meeting for that one. "Hey hank, lets make a sodding big engine with iddy biddy little valves and a narrow bore to really make it hard to fill, super long stroke to limit RPM and then run race-car like duration on low lift lobes. That'll be a really great idea for our luxury coupes and sedans, right?"
Audi 5 pot warble is nice with the right exhaust.
Morris Minor all stock with that over-run gear and exhaust noise. Superb.
Any high compression V8 with headers and "almost too much" cam.

I am not a BMW fan but there straight 6 lump sound lush!
Other than that I always like the cologne V6 in my XR4i sounded sweet under load. Any turbo engine sounds good aslong as your running more than 14 psi of boost on a noisey exhaust!

A lot of 4 cyl Saabs have very unequal length exhaust manifold - esp the turbos: And that results in a VERY nice burble at low revs/high load Still haven't found a decent way of recording it.

I still get amazed how good my GT sounds at full throttle from 2000rpm to 5000rpm, glorious induction growl; the KV6 as fitted to the BTCC MG ZS cars sounded awesome at full belt and had a menacing howl on rundown (you could always place where a ZS at Donington was by the wail from the engine....); my mates Harley Davidson (the Dumptruck!) sounded amazing, but for real aural devastation, an English Electric 12CSVT diesel at full thrash or a Ruston V16 diesel having its chuds thrashed off....

Sweet, sounds awesome. Noticed the VNT15 turbo in the description... How are you controlling/actuating it?

If I recall correctly, he experimented to find the optimum angle for drivability and then locked it at that.
