You could of had an E30 M20 flywheel and clutch (though the clutch has seen better days) when you visited me, not sure though what clutch/release bearing you would need in use with your box.

A friend of mine has a zf with a single mass flywheel, the gearbox makes quite a bit of noise beacuse of this. They do hold up, but might scare of most not in-the-know buyers..

Id be more worried about the floor / rear subframe cracking to be honest Why? If bushes are kept on top of in the subframe and not left to rot out then there is no reason for the subframes to crack. Rob I know I meant to ask about it but it fell out of my head whilst i was up there. Dude - between my poly gearbox mounts and engine mounts i don't think i'll be able to hear any extra noise. Cheers for the link andy.

Built in flaw that BMW over looked, earlier car's didnt have some foam in the subframe mouting points, which seems to cause them to crack. BMW didnt like to admit they were at fault though but in some case's will repair them. www.vrperformance.com/mt/2008/11/cracking_up_e46_subframe_issue.html

But from what I understood the extra stress to crack the subframe came from the bushes being vamoosed hence allowing play in the subframe under acceleration/braking. Anyhoo...

Don't the very easy non-vanos E36 325's come with a solid flywheel? OT, don't ECP do non DM fly's for the E36? I work at a Motorfactor (not ECP lol!) and on my system Valeo do list a solid flywheel conversion for the E46 328, the part no. is 835038, although I'd expect it to cost around £430 inc vat. Although I am aware that ECP do have a supplier that offers a cheaper range of solid flywheel kits.
